Are these certified as Cat6A? The 1-Pack shows them just as Cat6. Also, are they 550Mhz?

BEST ANSWER: There are SlimRun Cat6A cables in multi packs and SlimRun Cat6 cables, which are sold as singles and not in multi packs. The SlimRun Cat6 cables are component tested and are a different cable. Each cables meets the necessary Cat6 and Cat6A standards

There is absolutely a Category 6A standard. Look for ANSI/TIA-568-C.1. Cat 6 is NOT Cat 6A. Category 6A can carry 10G for the Ethernet standard 100m. Cat 6 cannot.

These are Cat6A cables (note that there are also similar Cat6 SlimRun cables on this site which are sold singly instead of in 5 or 10 packs). The Cat6A spec includes a certification of 500 MHz.

Umm at 14ft (~4m) it simply doesn't matter. Cat 5e will work. I use them for their small cross-section. This page has a helpful grid about speed and type of cable: https://kb.wisc.edu/ns/page.php?id=7829

There isn't a Cat 6A standard. These cables will handle most data needs for the average consumer.

When I try this jumper the cat 5E was faster. Enter an answer to this question.

Are these cables branded with Monoprice's name or any other brand name?

BEST ANSWER: Scanning a couple 5 footers at random, I see no branding marks, just "yfc cat.6a patch conforms to ansi/tia-568-c.2 & iso/iec11801 30awgx4p" every couple feet along the length. There are no marking on the connectors.

Can these cable be used fo POE devices?
Dean C
on Dec 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The will work with PoE devices. However, because these are 30 AWG wires there will be more voltage loss across this cable than a standard Cat6A cable with 26 AWG wires. The amount of voltage loss will depend on the total length of the run and the number and quality of the connectors (patch panels, keystone jacks, couplers, etc.). In my experience, using SlimRun cables for short patch cables at either end hasn't been a problem, but if you are pushing the edge of the 100 M spec distance or if you are trying to push a lot of Amps you might run into issues.

As long as the device doesn't have require specific cables, any category ethernet cables should work with PoE devices as long as you have a capable PoE port/switch.

Yes. I'm using it to connect my VoIP phone to POE port on a switch since the phone doesn't have a power supply.

any rating on bending radius and number of bending cycles? would like to use these in an e-chain

BEST ANSWER: I can't speak specifically about "bending radius" or "bending cycles," but one of these cables I purchased turned out to be defective in use with an ethernet switcher. Other products of the same kind worked fine.

To be honest I have not put the bend radius to the test. My installation allows me to be very liberal with the wiring. Sorry.

I am looking for a very flexible (supple?) cable to connect a video tablet that will be used on a conference room table. I am looking for something that does not retain bends, etc. Will these work? The connection will be gigabit Ethernet with POE, max length would be 10 to 15 feet.

Work well in crowded cabinets.
The slim run cables are great when you have a lot of Ethernet connection is a small space - rack - since they take up a lot less room. Snagless heads are ok, but not the best I've seen.

SlimRun Cat6A network cables are great for crowded areas.
I put a 8-port gigaswitch in my entertainment to serve the TV, BluRay player, Seagate media server, Sat dish receiver box, my DVR / DVD burner. and a 2TB HDD back-up system for three networked 'putters. Six conventional Cat6 cables + the power cable for the switch and the switch positioning was determined by the stiffness of the cables -- the tail wagging the dog effect -- and NOT where I wanted it. I ordered a couple of 5-pack 7-footer SlimRun cables, and they were a wonderful solution, and very easy to route through holes and around corners, and are relaxed enough that my switch stays at the place and angle that I set it.
