Data rate is mostly a function of equipment, not of the cable; it would be nice to know what loss-per-foot they've measured at 10 & 18 GHz, but those numbers would depend on cable suppliers and I bet they change from time to time.

I would assume the text is correct. These cords are not priced high enough to insinuate that 18 is correct.

Not obviously, unless they're very small ferrites hidden in the plug itself.

Do these support HDMI 2.1?
Christopher J
on Jun 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The full story on this is that the cable is compatible with 2.1 ports, so if your devices use 2.1, this will at least connect.
BUT...
At only 18Gb/s, it won't transfer 8K video due to lack of bandwidth.
The longer cables (over 25') will need a timing corrector device, like the one I attached to this answer, on the display end to bump them up to 18Gb/s and allow them to send 4K - otherwise they're 1080p

The descriptions clearly says 18GBPS. If you know HDMI, then you know that HDMI 2.0 is 18GBPS. HDMI 2.1 is 48GBPS. So no, these do not support HDMI 2.1.

It Definitely Works
Using a 20 ft. cable for 1920 x1080 display we have had no problems. Cable is a bit inflexible, though., and can't do a tight bend. That could be a good thing, for better performance at 4K.
