How do you/what do you use to ground this cable ~250ft.?
New User U
on May 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There is no ground or need to go ground the cable. This just transmits the signal. Each equipment will have its own electric ground. If you want ground, you need to use shielded cable and special shielded Rj45 connectors, jacks, patchpanels, patchcords if not it will act as a large antenna and bring noise into the cable. Hope this helps

this product has no grounding wire or shield. Use product# 12733 or 21869. Those 2 products have a ground wire that is used for grounding.

Grounding of the cable is built into the CAT6 protocol or standard. CAT5 is the same (but I can't remember the pins off hand).

Is this cable uv resistant?
Ryan A
on Jun 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello,
The outside plastic is more durable, and yes is UV resistant, but nothing will last forever, is possible, run it inside of a conduit (metal or plastic) and that will make your cable last longer. If you are using it for areal purposes make sure to run a metal wire and attach your Cat6 to it, this way you don't put too much pressure on the Cat6.
Hope this tips help you

Called Monoprice and the rep stated that all their burial cable is UV rated. Though there are no markings on it that state such. This stuff is very high quality and thick. Used it in my attic to exterior cameras.

Two of the reviews stated a problem with attaching connectors because of the orange and orange/white slightly larger jacket sizes. Is this still a problem? If so, it it solved by simply stripping the jackets before making the connection?

Great so far
Ran some cable about 270 ft underground into a garage. Works so far with 1ms latency. Don't forget to ground your cable.
PROS: Wires wrapped in thin plastic, very tough.
CONS: Very stiff, but it is outdoor cable.
