What does the actual plug look like. Is it straight or bent at 90 degrees? This is important to know if you have a recessed outlet. Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: The plug is straight / flat, just a rectangular block. The outlets are flush with the surface.

why there is one particular outlet having a square around it? is there a specific reason for that?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, the green square does not have a purpose for this model and we'll be removing the design for succeeding production runs. It was originally intended to have an "always on" outlet that had power even when the surge protector switch and the normal outlets were off. But during testing, users found more value with having all outlets controlled by the switch, so the final model removed the "always on" function. Thanks for asking.

Good power strip
This is a good power strip, and it is easy to see when the surge protection is enabled. My only suggestions for improvement would be to orient the plugs perpendicular to the strip and have the surge protection light be dimmer.

Works what i wanted
The power strip was just what i wanted. Surge Protection along with coaxial RF for protection for my modem. Using in my computer room for protection for my PC desktop computer, 27" monitor, printer, and speaker system. The green light was a nice touch to see it's working. Along with the power cord, bought 6 foot coaxial cable to run from modem to RF out. Cable from Comcast went into the in .The second power strip use behind TV console for protection of cable box, TV, receiver, DVD player, and disk player. The price was right and shipping was fast. Glad i came across Monoprice.
