Could you use this patch panel in cabinet for home entertainment center with keystone jacks?

BEST ANSWER: It can be used anywhere there are standard 19"-apart rack mounting rails, with 2U of vertical space. If the cabinet doesn't have rack rails, and if this is the only thing you need to mount, you could buy a nice low-profile 2U bracket to attach the panel. The holes fit standard keystone jacks, but be aware that the jack will protrude forward beyond the surface of the panel. It is not flush with the surface, like most other patch panel designs. The panel is just a single sheet of metal. On the other hand, this panel will accommodate wider keystones than some other designs, since the three-row arrangement allows a generous horizontal spacing between keystones.

You could but you will need to purchase a mounting bracket or fabricate a mount. This is a 48 port 2U panel or 3.5 inches in height. The 24 port is a 1U or 1.75" in height.

What is the spacing between jacks? I am hoping to use these for paired banana plugs, which need to be spaced 3/4" apart center to center.

Keystone jack panel 48 ports
Don't really like the port layout, not a typical patch panel layout. Not sure why they chose not to put 2 rows of 24 ports like a typical panel. I know it is doable since their 1U, 24 port keystone patch is laid out properly. Keystones mounted do not look clean as you see the keystone holding clip on the face plate. Lastly, when attaching a cable management to back of face plate, it is tough to insert the middle row of keystones.
If laid out in 2 rows of 24, there would be room on the patch for ID tags, easier to insert the keystones and look 1000% cleaner.
Long story short, functional, get's the job done, but should be redesigned into 2, 24 each rows.

Great, inexpensive patch panel
I thought this worked great and I used Monoprice Product 5378 jacks in the patch panel. I got them to fit in the right orientation on all keystone holes (even the bottom row). I think I may have had to put the bottom of the jack in first on the bottom row (or might have been the top), but it was pretty easy to get them in. I also had no problems with loose jacks or jacks popping out of the panel.
PROS: Cheap
Sturdy
Fit great in a wall mount rack
CONS: Jacks do not sit flush in the panel like some other reviewers pointed out. It is purely aesthetic and for me did not matter since it was going in a wiring closet anyway and I was the only one that was going to see it. However, if you have it on display or really want a clean look, this might not be for you.

PROS: Quality as expected.
CONS: None. Suggestion: It includes screws but no rack clips for it. It'll be nice if it does... :)

Almost perfect
I bought these to use with PID 7302 (cat5e keystone ) and PID 6542 (modular F-type keystone). The PID 6542 fit perfectly. The PID 7302 has a slight compatibility issue. The bottom row (33-48), doesnt clip the 7302 well. They pop out extremely easily. The solution is to flip the 7302 upside down. Then it is solid. This makes the words "CAT5e" written on 7302 upside down. This was for my house, so the professionalism of the words on the 7302 isnt that important to me. But for a home theater installer, this may bother him.
This is my only compliant.
PROS: Locally, comparable plates are 40 bucks!!!! This is a smoking deal
CONS: PID 7302 must be installed upside down on the bottom row.

Due to the low-profile design, "flush-front" keystones do stick out the front. It's still very sturdy, it's only an aesthetic issue.
PROS: Lightweight, holds larger keystones even right next to each other. Lots of spacing so things don't get cramped.
CONS: No depth, so flush-fit keystones stick out.

Very poorly designed. Bought a 24 port panel previously and was rather satisfied. This came as a major disappointment. Will have to get 2 x 24 instead. Sadly lots of time wasted waiting for this panel and now having to reorder.
PROS: Inexpensive
CONS: Keystones stick way out in front, no labeling space, lower row does not have space for Cat6 dust covers.

Works great!
I have bought many of these plates, and I love the simplicity and the spacing. There is enough room that I can print off numbering on labels and stick them sideways between the ports (for once you surpass 48 onto a new panel). I have bought thicker plates that cost 10x more, and the jacks don't fit in very well (too tight).
PROS: Cheap. Simple. Well-made. No problems with fatter or wider style RJ-45's.
CONS: None for me. I have not experienced this problem of "loose fitting jacks" like the other reviewers.

poor quality
it is great if you are not looking for something with a pro look. the inserts will clip in it and it will hold in rackmount but the finish looks crappy. the inserts would stick out in front of the plate not giving a flush finish. i would recoment to use the 24 pour ones from monoprice, those are better quality
PROS: it will hold a lot of keystone in 2 rack space
CONS: this panel is a poor quality. the keystone insert sticks out half an inch in front of the place. it does not give a flush finish
