No. This is NOT a TV mount. This is a 19" 1U wall mount for patch panels and other shallow networking equipment.

It appears one end is hinged, am I seeing this correctly?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, one end is hinged. It’s so you can mount the patch panel, swing it away to punch down your wires and then swing it back into place and/or make changes or repairs after it’s finished.

How well would this mount to the underside of a standup desk to hold a power distribution unit (power strip designed for a rack)?…how long are the included screws? If/how would the hinge help/hinder this use case? Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: this device is usually used to support a patch panel that doesnt not sit in a rack.. The two holes in the back are used to mount the attachment... The screws used should be long enough to support the weight... If using these on the underside of the desk it would depend on the thickness of the desktop. The front side screws are tapped for the equipment

Look for a 1RU vertical wall rack. They are made to mount equipment parallel to a wall but they can be also mounted under a desk without any additional brackets. In fact, I actually do have a 1ru power distribution panel mounted to the underside of my work surface. Not sure Monoprice carries these, but they are available elsewhere.

BEST ANSWER: Hey Mike: My name is Ken O'Connor. I am only a customer of Monoprice, but they sent this email asking me to answer this question. I feel so privileged.
I bought this a few months back to mount a 1U, 12-port patch panel to a wall in the IT closet. Worked just fine.
You can also mount a 1U power strip if the plugs are facing outward. The hinge wont apply with your application unless the plugs face inward, then you have to hinge it open every time you plug something in. I would just mount the power strip with plugs facing out, then you don't need a hinge at all.
MOUNTING: It might come with some 10-32 rack mount screws to mount your power strip, I cant remember, but it does NOT come with hardware to mount the rack to the wall or desk in your case. All you need is a couple wood screws off the truck and your good to go. If your mounting to Gypsum board (sheetrock) then use anchors or molly bolts, also not provided.
I feel so important answering this question! Have a great day. -kjo

This should mount well underneath a standup desk. I don't recall the length of included mounting hardware, however a trip to the hardware store for the right length screw would remedy this. I don't feel that the hinge would help or hinder anything for your use case. I honestly think the hing is a little silly for how small this rack is.

How does this exactly work? I want to mount a 1U rack mount NVR (Product # 30590) can this accommodate it? Or is this only for patch panels?

Monoprice 16CH NVR 4K, 1U, 16 Built-in PoE, up to 2 SATA, 16 CH Synchronous Playback, H.265+
BEST ANSWER: That mount is only 4 inches deep so can't accommodate the 12 inch depth of the NVR. You'd need to use something like Product # 8627 but that doesn't come in 1U. Good luck.

Awesome Bracket
This bracket works great, and it is a fraction of the price of the brand name brackets of the same or lesser quality!!!

Fantastic price, very usable
It's hinged, but that doesn't seem very useful, since it wouldn't be strong enough to hold the patch panel I'm using. It's perfect for my use case.

Sturdy and works as intended.
The swing out hinge is convenient. It would be nice if the mounting slots were horizontal to allow for variance in stud width
