What would matter is the VESA hole mounting pattern and weight of the TV that you are looking to mount. The VESA mounting pattern of a TV will vary by make and model. Older TV's had larger VESA patterns and weighed much more than TV's nowadays. As long as your TV's VESA fits the mount and the weight of the TV can be held by the mount it will work no problem.

My family finally got another TV after eight year and wanted to re-use our eight year old TV in another room that requires a high wall mount. I wanted flexibility and so I wanted a motion mount. The cheapest ones I found that would hold the weight and give that functionality were at least a hundred dollars at Sam's or Costco. These mounts were half that and rated for MORE than enough weight.
I ordered two (one for old TV, one for new TV) and they arrived promptly and were HEAVY themselves. Everything was well packaged. I read the instructions and then re-read the reviews on the Monoprice site. I saw complaints about the lag bolts repeatedly and had recently done a DIY project where I'd sheared the head off of a lag bolt. I went out and googled around and found these links:
Basically the pilot hole they recommend is TOO SMALL and does not tell you to also drill a wider hole INSIDE the same hold for the shank (the straight non-screw part of the lag bolt). The included lag bolts are 8mm, which is a 5/16", which should have a 15/64" pilot hold and a 5/16" shank hole. Also put something onto the screw part to help it slide into the wood easier. Some people say soap but apparently that can rust the screw, and I don't keep beeswax laying around so I just soaked a paper towel with vegetable oil and squeezed it around the screw threads and wound it in and out a couple times.
Also, be sure to use the actual frame to mark out where to drill. I tried to do a measurement myself and it was off just enough that I had to drill a second set of holes (sigh).
Also, get help, because this thing is HEAVY and there's too much going on to do it yourself, during the installation and the mounting of the TV itself.
I created a photo gallery of the project: http://imgur.com/a/Y50kK
It's only been up a couple days but so far I'm pleased with it. I'll be doing the other TV in a few weeks.
PROS: Relatively inexpensive
Comes with all the hardware you need
CONS: The tilt lock mechanism is hard to access once the TV is mounted.
Instructions for use of lag bolt/screw are WRONG and incomplete (check http://www.renovation-headquarters.com/lag-bolt-pilot-hole.html and http://www.kaiserstructural.com/how-to-properly-install-a-lag-bolt-lag-screw/)
I was able to mount the unit without using any of the included fasteners and spacers. I used the large lag bolts from the previous fixed mount. These were better quality and slightly larger than those included with the new mount. I had to clearance the new mounting plate slots a tiny bit but am fully confident it's better than required.
The old wall plate was wider, the new unit when centered was oriented on the wall differently. The new plate has plenty of lateral adjustment and with the unit skewed to one side, it's now positioned on the wall correctly. The new mount handles this skewing effortlessly.
The thumb screws for tilt adjustment/tightening are hard to get at. I can't remember the size of fastener needed but I took one of the thumb screws to the hardware store and got a couple quality bolts ( I would recommend better than standard hardware grade, ask what they offer). Using an extension on my ratchet wrench, I can easily snug the fasteners down and feel a lot better about the overall integrity of the installation. No need to go crazy torquing them down, nice and firm does the trick.
With Monoprice's reputation, I knew I'd like this unit, it's better than expected.
PROS: Solidity and function excellent
CONS: Tilt adjustment awkward
PROS: Nice swivel and tilt range to see anywhere in the room. Very sturdy and easy to install but you will need two people because it is pretty heavy.
PROS: - Adjustabillity is very good for the price.
- Heavy duty. I had no doubts that it would support my TV.
- Packaged well. Included all necessary instructions, hardware, and accessories. Lots of extras included for varying TV installations.
- Level included on the mount.
CONS: - Tilt wouldn't stay put when tightening the nuts by hand. I may try tightening the nuts with pliers as someone else suggested.
- It would be nice if a template of the mounting plate were included to make the installation go a little quicker.
PROS: Beautifully built with super tough design and materials. Nice finish to all of the metal pieces, and the construction joins the articulating pieces in a nicely finished way.
CONS: The plastic thumbscrews that are supposed to tighten the tilt mechanism just don't work. The screws are small, and tough to reach. It's nearly impossible to tighten them sufficiently to keep the TV at any normal tilt angle. Unless you want the thing pointing down at the floor, be prepared to tighten with a pliers. Some loctite may be in order, if you're willing to sacrifice future adjustments. I think this is a design flaw - larger knurled knobs would've been better than those little screws.
however after being installed for 5 days, one of the lag bolts snapped. causing my tv to fall. thankfully it snapped as i was adjusting the tv, so i was holding it. however, the broken bolt caused the mount to rip away a chunk of my dry wall.
after patching up the wall and buying new lag bolts, my tv is up again (for now)
Would have given a 5/5 if the lag bolt didnt give way.
PROS: functions as listed
easy install (2 person job)
lag bolts failed
Customer service was nice enough to issue an RMA for me to return the product on my dime. My concern for safety may just lead me to scrap the whole thing.
CONS: Inferior lag bolts
Heavier than necessary
Tilt clamp access
Difficult to move
1) I realized how much metal was in it (a lot!) I bet it's heavier than my TV (60 inch)
2) that competing products were going for $250-300
It's one of those things that isn't a whole lot of fun but you need it anyways. I hung a 60 inch TV. Since I installed it, I haven't really thought about it which, in this case, is a good thing. Check your TV mounting layout is VESA and supported by this product. Most any TV you would want to hang is supported. I would recommend this product for any compatible TV. I would also recommend that you don't mount it too high. I see a lot high mounts (like over fireplaces) but I mounted mine so the bottom of the TV is about 30 inces off the floor. I'm glad I did. I had my doubts but watching the TV is effortless since it's so close to eyelevel. I wish I would have gone maybe a few inches lower. Make sure you follow instructions and mount this into studs and not drywall anchors.
PROS: Hefty. Easy install once I figured out where I was going to put it and at what height. Comes with hardware for most any VESA layout.
CONS: Customer support was responsive but the advice (how high to mount the TV) sounded like it was read verbatim off another web site that I had visited a few minutes earlier (not mono-price related). I had hoped for something a bit more authoratative and detailed. The fact I had to wait for a reply to such a basic question says to me that the service rep was not well prepared.
CONS: Design & included parts
