I'm looking to wall mount an older TV, a 60" Sharp Aquos LC-60E79U. The manual insists that I only use Sharp Wall Mount bracket model number AN-52AG4. I cannot find the VESA information for this mount. Does anyone know if this Monoprice mount would be compatible?

BEST ANSWER: To determine compatibility with a TV mount to your TV, please determine the VESA mounting pattern on the back of your TV. It is the 4 screw hole square formation on the back you can find out by measuring it yourself(measured in millimeters). This mount VESA is compatible with 50x50, 75x75, 100x100, 200x200, 300x200, 400x200, 300x300, 400x300, 400x400, 500x400, 600x400, & 700x400.

Last page of the manual (page 33) for that television clearly shows a 400x400mm VESA size. This mount will go up 770x480mm, so you should be fine with this mount and your television. I have used this mount in several locations and it's a great mount.

We bought 2 of these and we mounted each on an outside corner wall so we could pull out and face toward an audience. It folds up very close to flat with the left wall and will pull out and adjust even with right wall. However Im not positive if it will mount on an interior corner. It is very adjustable to many angles so it’s possible it will work.

Not sure where you intend to mount your TV, but this mount has a single pivot arm allowing a great deal of flexibility as to the final position of the TV relative to the wall. I guess that's why they call it "corner friendly."

Maybe. It will depend on how close you mount the baseplate to the intersection of the two walls. They should have the dimensions of the mount online and you can draw it out on a piece of paper and do the math and see if it will fit where you want to mount it.

The instruction manual that comes with your TV will have the VESA pattern dimensions somewhere inside. No manual? Go to the web site of the brand to find the answer. Think before you buy -why would you think a mount built for a much larger TV (i.e. 60-70") would work well with a much smaller TV?

BEST ANSWER: I have a 42" plasma mounted in the corner with this mount hardly using any of the arm reach. You should have plenty of reach.
Knowing the higher weight of a plasma TV, I first bolted a 2x8 across 3 wall studs and butted the 2x8 into the corner behind the mount for added anchoring strength, can't see it because the TV and mount block its view. Works like a champ!

My 50" curved has plenty of room for adjustability. I mounted mine about 5" off the opposite wall because of where the stud fell rather than use moly's. It has a pretty large amount of arm travel out and away and the brackets can be slid left or right as well.

As long as the VESA is greater than 49x49 and less than 771x481 then the only problem you may encounter is having the right size bolts for the new TV. 2009 TVs used larger fasteners than what I'm seeing with newer TVs. I'm looking for a mount for a 55" LG C1 OLED. It is a bit unique in that the VESA holes (300x200) are not in the middle of the TV, but in the lower half, with the top set of holes at around the halfway make. Additionally, most of the weight is in the lower half also. Wondering whether all of the "functionality" of this mount will work properly then and whether it can be done without brackets showing?

BEST ANSWER: As a contractor in the state of California I would advise adding a 2x6 backing top center and base of mounting points as a standard 16/20 gauge steel stud is not very strong when mounting a heavy object on only 1 stud

Yes but the kit doesn't come with snap toggle bolts. Plenty videos online showing how to mount to steel studs.

The information states that it can extend up to 26.5 inches but the video only says 20. Those 6 inches make a big difference for what we are looking for. Does it extend a full 26.5?

I have 6 of these and they’re great. I need to move one and wondering if there’s anywhere I can order the large plastic wall anchors from? I’ve searched online and all the big box stores and cannot find them anywhere. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: Personally I would not use those large plastic anchors, use snap-toggle with bolts, available at almost every hardware/home improvement stores. You will just need to use a washer as the head of the bolt is not large enough. Hit a stud (wood=screws metal=snap-toggle) by the mount pivot point and use the snap-toggles everywhere else. They will not pull out like plastic anchors and have a great shear rating.

This thing is WAYY too HEAVY
It's definitely way, way overbuilt. This thing could hold up a train. It is all steel and it is enormous so it weighs 5-10x what my TV weighs. Most of what its holding up is itself. It's like putting up a telephone pole to mount a stop sign. No one needs this kind of capacity since plasmas are a thing of the past unless its like a 200" TV. I feel like it might rip the studs through the wall it is so heavy. I buy monoprice mounts exclusively and this is nothing like the ones I've had before. They're not joking when they say the've tested it at 3x its rated capacity because a large man could swing around the room on this thing and it'd be fine. This is the weight I'd expect if I ordered a cast iron TV mount. At least i know if a tornado comes and rips my house down I should be able to find my TV where it was, however if it fell I feel like my neighbors would feel the shockwaves as it cratered into the floor. I'm going to need to rent a crane to hold it up. I might just send this back so I don't have to mount it. Also it comes in a nice box in a less nice box, in a bigger box, in a massive box filled with padding. Probably because its so heavy. I dont know how they could even ship this thing for the price they sold it for.

Some difficulty due to weight
Was difficult to attach to the wall due to the weight of the mount. Would be better if it came with the arm detached and easily attached to the wall part of the mount.

Could hold much more!
My wife, daughter, and I installed this together. It was easy to follow the instructions. It is super solid and holds the 55" TV with ease! Love how far it comes out from the wall.

This mount worked for me!
Shipped pretty quick and impressive packaging. Required some care to locate exactly where the mount needed to be installed in the corner, that process took me a day, but I feel confident it's going to stay put with my 55"tv. Realistically I'll only extend and swing the tv out of the way when tweaking the av etc. once in a blue moon. I modified a couple metal L-brackets and screwed them to the wall at the bottom corners where the tv can rest level every time. If I were to need to swing it out on a regular basis I would have made a point to lube the pivot points, as the unit moves pretty stiff, and requires more pulling on the tv than is probably good, when I ever need to remove the tv from the mount, I'm sure gonna do that! I'm happy I found this corner- friendly Monoprice unit, and would recommend as it looks as if it's been engineered to fit about any tv (up to 55"-imho.) that needs to mount in a corner.
