Is the. Volume control and the cover plate separate?
Bill Z
on Nov 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi bill,
The volume control and the cover plate are two separate pieces. It is a standard rectangular size like any and light switch or outlet and can be used with any standard cover plate. So if you have something that you want to match then use whatever cover plates you have

When I was in the market for the mentioned switch I could only find in white or ivory, I did not find it in black in either rotary or slide.

If I use one set upf inputs. So 2 wires red and black. Can I still hook it up to 2 pair of output speakers?
A shopper
on Jan 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No do not hook up 2 pairs of speakers to a single volume control. The volume control is designed for only one pair. If you do you will drop the speaker ohm rating in half. Your amp may not handle it. Just buy two v/c’s

The instructions don't state how to set the jumper settings, why not? I have a single amp 8ohm impedance. The speaker wire goes to a single pass through plate to keep the wiring simple so it has the wires from the amplifier then a run to each of the impedance matching volume controls, 3 RMS 100W. I have 3 sets of ceiling mounted speakers Pyle PDIW87 8" 4-8ohm impedance. What would I set the input and output jumpers to on each of the volume controls? Input being from the amp and output to each of the speakers?

BEST ANSWER: The jumper pins have a 1x? number associated with them. Set the jumper with the max number of 8Ω speaker you are using per side. If using 4Ω speakers then count them as 2.

Speaker Controller
Product works perfectly. The slide is a little bit flimsy giving it a cheap feel.

Missing parts
The order was incomplete and didn't have all of the connectors required. I'll have to rig something up to make it work.

junk
when they say that it fits in a standard electrical box, they meen without the wires attached. The connections, that the wires attach to, pop off too easily. its also very doesn't play on both speakers all of the time. Don't waste your money.

Works good, but connecting clips are loose
One of the 2 connecting clips was loose in the box (no problem) but when I wired and installed it, only one speaker worked. I found the wire connectors attach to the post somewhat loosely and the wire tension made it pull off the post as I pushed it in the wall socket. I had to zip tie the connectors down and now it works fine. Need a more firm snap device to hold the wire connectors to the posts.

looks great but feels a little chinsey.....
We originally had a Niles round knob and I wanted an aesthetically pleasing change. It looks nice, just needs to be made a bit more stable.

Volume Slider for Aesthetics
Bought 2 and 1 came broken. Monoprice quickly RMA'd and I recceived the replacement and it worked no problems. Thank you Monoprice.
Pros: They are the budgetest (not a real word I know) friendliest volume sliders on the market :) I wanted the slider version for aesthetics and they look great. They have markings for different volume levels which I like. When they work they are awesome and do the job.
Cons: The speaker slider clicks to fall into the volume positions which I understand but it makes it feel very cheap and sounds horrible. I might end up going rotary regardless.
The other thing is, as others commented, that the speaker wires go on the left hand side of the logic board which may widen the width of an already wide RMS connector.
I recommend these for the price as the Niles brand was around $70 each.
