Can I use the splitter to create a video wall?
A shopper
on Jan 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you want the same image on all of your TVs, then yes. This splitter repeats the same input signal across all outputs. If you want multiple input/output configurations, you will want to purchase an HDMI matrix splitter.

No. Each output of the splitter/extender will have the same video signal repeated. It is designed for taking a single video source and repeating it on 4 remote displays

Technically yes, but the wall will contain the exact same feed on all TVs. So you won't have a variety of programming that you're probably intending.

Signal intermittently drops and the TV screen goes black. We used this setup flawlessly a month ago but now it is flickering. Any suggestions?

BEST ANSWER: I use 8 of these in commercial settings. The only instance of screen flickering that I have seen was the result of the power supply being pulled slight out of the unit. It was so slight that it was difficult to see. . Once I pushed it back in, the unit worked flawlessly.

I've experienced this once on an installation. We found that one of the Cat6 cables was close to something that interfered with it. We rerouted that line and problem solved.

Did you use cat6? Did you use keystone jacks and patch cables? Must use cat6 and straight thru cable no wall jacks nothing sender to receiver with just the cable in between.

I have two TV's located at 40 ft and 60 ft from my computer. Can I use cat 5 cable for this shorter distance and cat 6 on my two that are over 100ft? Both the TV's are 4k.

BEST ANSWER: If it is CAT 5e, this should definitely work, however you are talking less then $10/cable to use CAT 6 even on the short runs. Unless the cable is behind the wall already and you are looking for a device to augment existing cabling, this should do the trick. If you haven't bought any cables yet, go with CAT 6 to be safe.

Cat6 is still best. It's all about signal distortion, cable shielding. Cat6 separates the twisted pairs in addition to having the whole cable shielded. This product will work with Cat5, but I would recommend getting the 1000 ft spool from monoprice, and fit your own ends on it.

Unfortunately, I've had on and off problems. I have 3 TV's receiving the same feed and 1 of them blinks ever so often. I use CAT6A cabling and it has been certified at 10G with no issues. My TV at 197' is fine, as is the TV at 38'. However the TV at 167' is giving me fits. I've swapped ports and receivers to no avail. Even switched TV's and Inputs. No dice. Just that one TV gives me issues.

?????Can i come out of the splitter with Ethernet plug into a home network router and then put back on the receiver
A shopper
on Mar 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This unit would not work in that way. It would require the receiver to be connected directly to the transmitter. We do have our Bit-Path HDMI Extenders that will support being connected to a network via ethernet, such as PID 14158. You would then be able to add receivers to the router or an ethernet switch, such as PID 15522. Then from the receivers you can connect to the TV's.

Extremely sensitive to interference
We are using one of these in an IT data room on a shelf in a rack to send digital signage out to two poster oriented screens in an office area. We had expensive aluminum surrounds designed for the TV's that really make the aesthetics pop in the space but as soon as you put the aluminum surrounds on the TV's the picture flickers or goes to "no signal". There is a lot of interference. So when troubleshooting we noticed even if a cell phone is anywhere close to the receivers, the picture glitches and goes haywire. We are going to try to wrap the receivers in foil or place them in anti-static bags with holes for the cables cut. Its in a very wireless dense hospital environment and we've noticed they are just extremely sensitive to the environment.

Great connectivity, though audio sometimes lags
I have four different TVs hooked up around my house to one cable box in my basement. I wired the house with cat6a cable several years ago and was able to use that for this device. to connect to each TV. I had to "downgrade" the video setting to 1080i since that's all the cable box supports. This device is saving me the cable box rental costs for three TVs and will pay for itself in less than a year.
The one problem I've had is if I turn on multiple TVs to broadcast the same channel simultaneously (specifically, the kitchen and living room TVs, but it happens when any two TVs are turned on): the video signal is perfect, and one TV will have perfect audio, but the second TV will have a half second-ish audio delay to where the audio doesn't match the mouth movement on screen.
I haven't found a fix for this other than turning off one TV and turning it back on, but that's kind of inconvenient/annoying since the issue doesn't occur every time both TVs are on, and sometimes it happens at random while other times it happens when I pull up the channel guide. I have tried changing the cable length dip switches, but those cables are both under 50', and changing those settings doesn't do anything to help. Only turning off the offending TV and turning it back on again will fix the issue.
