Can anyone report if they have put a cable certifier on this cable and how it stands up? Does it actually meet CAT6 standards?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Matthew,
This cable's performance has been verified by ETL and it bears ETL verification logo on the packaging. The UL rating denotes the fire performance or fire rating of the cable, which is why the cable meets both ETL and UL.
That said, please feel free to tech support and we can share a fresh copy of a Fluke report.
Thanks for asking.

Is this suitable for running in a hot attic space?
A shopper
on Dec 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Will this also mean extreme temperatures summer/winter? I have used it in similar locations and it has been fine for several years now. I would not recommend exposing the shielding to sunlight. It often becomes brittle if directly exposed to sunlight.

Would this be acceptable for a POE application? Verses STP cable?
A shopper
on Jan 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this cabling can more than handle any POE types of deployment. STP cable is usually used because of your network environment requires a shielded cable solution.

Definitely! Probably be better since this is solid copper. Keep in mind it’s stiffer than stp.

since this is 550Mhz, can it run 10GB or do I need cat6a?
Eric D
on Jun 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Will it work and does it meet the spec are two different questions. You will find a lot of places that will say it will work up to 55 meters. It will probably work further if you don't have cross talk from other cables. If this was a small environment where you had one 10Gb run and it wouldn't kill you if you had to repull the cable, I would probably try it. If this was a commercial job, I would go straight to 6A or 7.

How do you achieve a CMR rating while using a PVC jacket? From what I understand, plenum should be used for CMR and CMP ratings. Also, the spec sheet attached to the page has conflicting information. see technical data vs features.

BEST ANSWER: Plenum is used for CMP. CMR is primarily PVC, now that also being said not all CMR is a PVC Jacket, but the majority is.

can this cat6 be burial underground in a conduit?
samuel h
on Jan 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: From How - To Geeks site : In my experience, it doesn’t hurt to combine both trenched conduit and direct burial wire. Expansion is great. Direct burial alone tends to get eaten rather easily if you have any sort of rat/mole/gopher digging around. Straight conduit can leak if done improperly, but the combo is a reliable combo. If you’re concerned about dealing with conduit, flexible “liquid-tight” grey pvc tubing is “very” easy to route, but does cost a bit more than standard pvc.

The first 100 feet of cable had several sharp bends. My electrician said it was not good practice to use it. The rest of the cable is fine, and seems to be of good quality.

Great cable, No markings.
The only thing I did not like about the cable is that it did not have any markings on it to show how much I have left in the box.

Gets the job done - in wall rated, good speeds because it is cat 6.
Solid instead of stranded makes putting ends on easy.

Excellent cable
Great cable easy to pull out of the box but the box falls apart easily. It is thick cable so keep that in mind when drilling holes. Wired up three wireless access points with this cable and ran into now issues.

GREAT PRODUCT
I HAVE GONE THRU 4 PALLETS OF THIS PRODUCT AND VERY HAPPY. Do Not take the outer shipping box off the factory box. The factory box will NOT stay closed on its own. We had to buy packing tape to hold many closed. Shipping moves them around then when you place in vehicle to move to storage then back to the vehicle and end up at the site, ya tale tape.
