BEST ANSWER: It should work fine. We use it on a printer that's 30 feet from the PC, and we get bi-directional communication.

BEST ANSWER: Sub this cable in for applications where the distance exceeds the length of the USB cable received with your USB device. USB specification limits the length of a cable between full speed devices to 5 meters. We have found this cable to be stable and allow us to exceed the spec limits. 50+ installs using this cable in both the 33' and 49' configurations. No power injector required.

Yes, you will need to power the camera. This cable allows longer distances for USB device connection. it does not provide power to run the camera.

Does this cable have a spec'd maximum temperature rating? I'm asking to determine if it would be suitable to run through a hot attic space. My guess is it is not.

BEST ANSWER: If it has a temperature spec, Monoprice doesn’t publish it! That said it’s not “plenum–rated” but an attic shouldn’t be a problem, especially if the attic is ventilated as most attics are/should be.

BEST ANSWER: If you get active cables with the "booster" (can't remember if that's what it's actually called.) Should be okay for most applications.

Does this cable need drivers? I purchased this 2 years ago and it worked flawless but when I up-graded cameras for my astro-imaging setup my laptop and it's telling me now to load drivers. So I go into the device manager and it's identifying my cable as an infra red device ( with no software available). I'm not connecting completely to my cameras anymore. Help! RM, purchased 2 years ago.

This cable worked out perfectly. I?m sorry I can?t show a photo as it is hidden between the baseboard and carpeting. The cable is great. I am a true fan of Monoprice.com. Didnt work for my application
It actually didnt work. I used it to connect my coffee roaster to a remote computer to record data, and it stopped working just after 6 minutes every time I rebooted. Ill have to do usb over cat6 it seems.
