Would you recommend this cable for connecting my Windows 10 computer to my preamp's DAC (Emotiva PT-100) that's across the room? Will the active electronics affect the audio? Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can absolutely connect the computer to the DAC. I'm currently connecting an Alesis DM10 drum module and using the usb active cable connection for DM10 midi drums output all the way across the studio to the MacPro usb input with no problems, zero latency.

For your specific use i cant give a recommendation, only my experience. With the focusrite solo it worked well. I couldnt use it with the audient id4, as that interface would click on and off rapidly when connected.

I used this to connect my Windows 10 computer to a Project Series USB Phono Plus across the room and it worked perfectly. I'm not an audiophile but the active electronics did not seem to effect the audio at all.

Will this work with an 8 port trip lite usb hub?

on Dec 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your inquiry. This item will work with an associating hub as long as it is a powered hub(connected to a power source/adapter) and not working directly though the computer USB bus. I hope this answers your question. Thank you!

Though no reason to doubt it, is this cable compatible with connecting Mac-based computer to printers? (Reason for question - the "Compatible" spec for listed only lists Windows OS compatibility). Thank you.

Is it truly only compatible up to Windows 7? My OS is Windows 10. It seems to me that as long as an OS supports USB at all, then it shouldn't matter the identity of the cable. If it were any other typical USB cable, I wouldn't even ask this question, but since it is powered/active for the long length, I'd like to make sure I can use it with Windows 10.

Goes The Distance
I love this long cable. I was having difficulty with my limited wifi service and was able to hook my printer up to my laptop by cleverly hiding the wire. Everything on my multi-printer/scanner works perfectly.

Good Value and Performance
Using to run an instrument remotely located in a ventilation hood. Communication between application and instrument much improved over previous solution. Using both the 33ft and 50ft active cables and both are performing well after two months of consistent use.
