This says it is High Speed. Does it have 18Gbps throughput? I want it to be able to connect the Caberet Series HDMI (#12961) and the Premium HDMI (#15428) cables for 1 run for 4k. The caberet would be in wall, and pops out of wall to connect directly to the display. The other would run from the Source to the wall outlet.

BEST ANSWER: Per my chat with customer support, this two piece insert wall plate 7332 will NOT support 4K. You will need a female to female pin connector keystone jack 6852 and the 2-hole wall plate 6727. Also, so that you don't void your home insurance, you will need two CL2 rated HDMI in-wall cables 3659 to connect from bottom plate to top plate. All these numbers correspond to Monoprice item numbers.

I'm running 4k with the keystone HDMI wallplate and 3x this cable without issues. 1 is in wall and 1 on each end. I did not use the caberet series.

Does this particular product support 4k or should I get new ones? I've had these since 2011, I'm assuming I should but I wanted to verify.

I plan to use this in a run from my PC, through a generic short HDMI cable, through wall plate #12097, through the wall with the 50ft version of this cable, and out with wall plate #7332, and then another short cable into my TV. Will that work? Or does the fact that this is an active cable mean that it needs to be directly connected between the source and TV without intermediate cables/connections?

BEST ANSWER: I must admit the largest HDMI cable I have used in your type of scenario was a 20'. So supposing that there is no loss of signal from a 50' cable there is no reason why what you're proposing won't work.

Works better than straight pass-thru
The flexible connector on the backside works well in tight spaces where the fixed ones would make the stiff HDMI cables stick out too far.

Work but...
....I am not crazy about the tail. Most HDMI cable does not bend easily and if inside a box, these are difficult to use. They work fine but I am not a fan of the tail.

Nice dual HDMI wall port.
The Monoprice 2-port 2-piece Inset Wall Plate works as intended. The finished look is sleek and looks nice. I deducted a star due to the pigtails on the back, are very stiff and do not bend well. When you plug your in-wall HDMI cable into the pigtails, it makes it difficult to push back into the wall but workable.
Another con is the screws that are supplied to secure the faceplate to the wall are silver, do not match the white plate. The screws are low quality and the heads easily strip out. I switched them out with standard white outlet screws.
Overall, I would recommend this product.
