Recommended by my computer tech. as an adaptor to mate the receptacle on my laptop to my earphones.

I have a headset with a 2.5 mm plug but got a new flip phone with a 3.5 mm receptacle. I can plug a set of earphones just fine into my phone but using this adaptor to try to connect my headset was a bust. Unlike the 3.5 mm plug on my cheap earphones, it felt like the adapter 3.5 mm plug wasn't properly fitting into the 3.5 mm receptacle on my phone. I'm suspicious that the adapter plug may not be designed to spec.
