Are the Monoprice's CAT6 surface mount boxes unshielded, half-shielded, or fully shielded?
The User's Manual shows all three options. The product description page does not make it clear what is available. From the available pictures, it appears only the unshielded is available.

The double version is definitely unshielded. I, too, would like the shielded version shown in the manual.

These are UL listed, but I doubt they are plenum rated. I don't think there are even plenum rated ty-raps. People will say they are but there not. Ultimately your fire marshal, building inspector or the authority having jurisdiction will decide. Can you find a plenum rated patch cable to go between your box and the device for are connecting to?

Would this be compatible with CAT6A cable? It says CAT6 so iI just wanted to verify if there will be no issues with CAT6A cables/

i am using cat 6 with it but you will have to expose more cable than needed because cat 6 is so rigid.

BEST ANSWER: Depends on your network. The standard two most used wiring types T568A and T568B. Are shown on the piece of paper in each package. Most common is T568B known as UDP. You must also own or use a punch down tool with a 110 blade to seat wires properly.

Works fine. Pinout is weird
The box works fine, but the markings on the top of the punchdown are unclear. You have to refer to the documentation that came in the box.

Clean and Easy
Super easy to handle and punch down my cables. Testing went very smooth as well. Will buy these again if needed for any projects in the future.

Great quality
Very high quality, easy to punch down, a little confusing IMO on the wiring pattern, I feel they could have done a bit better there however it works just fine.

Works well
PROS: Works great - the screws + sticky-pad hold securely to wall, and options for routing cables into the wall or along wall are helpful.
CONS: The plastic around the cables where you attach the cable-tie to hold down the cable from someone yanking it out of the box is very thin - I've broken it just pulling the cable-tie down tight.
The cable labeling was a bit hard to decipher until I read the paper pamphlet that came with the box (the label on the actual box doesn't make it clear which clamp is for white/color vs. color for either TIA568A or TIA568B).
