did not care...it is a short piece of cable. I confirmed the long runs were shielded. this short item in the system still allowed the shield of the longer cables to drain to chassis ground via its ground / signal common. keep in mind, its all about the cable being an antenna to noise. this short piece can barely be any antenna.

can this be used with and HDMI DV1 CABLE FOR AUDIO FROM TV TO BLU RAY?

BEST ANSWER: This cable carries audio in both directions, one end is a single plug and the other is a left/right split. Hdmi typically also carries audio, and I wouldn't think you'd need an extra cable for that with your setup.

If you are using HDMI the audio will be embedded in the HDMI connection.

I have a compact amplifier with only one L & R input. Will this cable work backwards? If I connect an Airport Express and a turntable with RCA cables both to the amp with two of these, so the amp will play whichever source is active, will they carry the full signal? I mean, will it sound right? The amp itself is pretty amazing in both power and clarity; each source sounds good when connected separately.
