Could this be used to safely mount a monitor (20") to the ceiling? Yes, the monitor would be pointing straight down at the floor.

Is a better dimensional diagram available? I specifically want to know the depth of the product (i.e. the distance between the front of the plate that mounts to the monitor and the back of the plate that mounts to the wall).

BEST ANSWER: Have not purchased yet but the specs list "Minimum Extension: 0.7"", which appears to be the total depth of the item.

works as cpu mount for sit-stand desks
Using these mounts to affix mini cpu chassis to sit-stand desk legs with 4x J bolts. Nice and tidy out of the way. Cheaper and more effective than OE or name brand solutions. Happy customers.

Great product, better value!
For the price, I was expecting a fairly basic product - but the Monoprice mounts are amazing! They are well-made, with thick steel and an easy joining connection. Installation is a snap, and the mounts are shipped with nice extras - fabric cable wraps, HDMI cable, a magnetized level, and a tear-away cardboard mounting template. Highly recommended!

Does the job nicely
This is an inexpensive solution to a wall mounted monitor. I bought a 24 in monitor without a stand and this worked perfectly. Added bonus is the HDMI cable and cord organizer straps that come with it..
