These cables are molded differently compared to the 10ft cables so don't fit as snug in a PDU (we use APC) as suggested by other reviewers. However we fixed the problem by wrapping the outer circumference of the C14 connector two times with electrical tape. This made for a tight fit. The tape should in no way touch any contacts. The manufacturer (Apollo) really should use the same mold from the 10ft cable. If you don't feel comfortable or are doing a big order and don't have the time to spare, then get the 10ft cables. Time is money after all.
Love these cables and definitely love the price. I ordered about 10 cables but with new server shipments coming in now I find myself coming back to buy them. The AWG number specifies the cables' thickness (the lower the AWG, the thicker the cable) if anyone was wondering. Will keep coming back to Monoprice for all future purchases!
PROS: Very good quality, great price!
CONS: Like previous commenter said: connecting these cables to PDU looks like it would not take much to disconnect it. But then again, equipment in a server rack does not move much and it's ultimately the tech's responsibility to be careful with handling such equipment.
Most places are selling these cables for more than 10 dollars each. It's wonderful to get a good quality cable at a MUCH better price. Thanks Monoprice! We use these to connect our servers to our 220v power distribution network and they are wonderful!
When obtaining computer parts for a school district under financial distress, I have been very relieved to find MonoPrice. Not only has the pricing beat compitition, the quality has been exceptional. Other school Techs like myself, have relied on MonoPrice for its all around consistancey.
