The guitar itself is fairly well constructed. Action isn't too high, didn't have to adjust the neck, and the frets all seem pretty decent. Switches and knobs are all good. Unfortunately there's a gash/chip in the tip of the head, which may have happened during shipping. At least it doesn't affect the tuning.

The amp that comes with this kit didn't work at all. The power light comes on, but the speaker never makes any noise, not even static. Seems like there's probably some faulty wiring or just a broken speaker.

Kind of knew the quality might be inconsistent with such an inexpensive package, but I'm still pretty happy with it as a beginner's guitar.

Great small starter guitar. Everything you need to get started. A little heavier than I thought. It does need to must be constantly tuned.

Bought this as a donation to a foundation that helps needy student musicians get instruments. Got a luthier friend of my to give it a proper setup, polished the frets, oiled the fretboard and refined a couple of nut slots and this entire guitar/amp package was ready. Even the amp is really good. Will go to someone who couldn't otherwise have the opportunity to have and play guitar; hopefully it will change a life in the most positive way. This guitar's intonation needed some adjustment but it is otherwise excellent; with an amp and decent gig bag it's an unbeatable beginner choice for the price.

Great starter guitar package. This was my first electric guitar and I?m enjoying it. Like another reviewer has mentioned, the padded gig bag has been replaced with one without padding. If you?ve seen reviews online mentioning the great gig bag that is included, this one leaves you wishing you?d ordered before they changed.
The only problem I had was the included cord. The one I got was very sensitive, sometimes you needed to re-plug it in on the amp to get connection. Picked up a new cord and all is working well now.
I?m sure someone with more experience would say that the pickups, nut, tuners, or something was much better in a more expensive guitar, but that isn?t the point of this guitar. This isn?t supposed to be competing against a $4000 1962 Fender Stratocaster. This is supposed to be an inexpensive first guitar, and for me it did that excellently and for a great price. I did buy another (different model) Monoprice Indio because of the quality of this Calli. FYI: If you do want better wood, pickups, etc. there is the DLX line. But I think it will be hard to beat the value that you get with this package for this price.

This is my first electric guitar. I am very pleased with it. I hope that I can learn to play it better.

Excellent starter guitar. I was iffy first and was in mood of returning and now I kept it.

Great beginners guitar, the amp however is terrible. I would recommend getting just the guitar and not the entire package.

I would recommend this guitar. I had a Fender in the late 60s and started playing again. I?m having a lot of fun with my new purchase.

I just got the Cali classic pig with amp etc. On sale. What a great guitar. I did have to replace strings, set up stuff, intonation, string height, etc. However it plays great.
Pickups are very usable when set at height which provides the best tone.
I do have a real gripe...the gig bags have changed. The one on my Tele was great...padded, nice, this one is like nothing...no padding. Come on...keep the strings, cord, strap, whatever, but the gig bag...get your previous supplier...
The tuners are better than most reviews. Not fabulous but usable. Bridge is sturdy and adjusted up fine, although somewhat loose in screw fitment.
Frets were nice, fretboard is great.
Wood for the neck seems a bit soft, but the finish is really sweet.
I really like this guitar, have already ordered more, and will continue to do so. Fabulous value. It will require effort, but nothing any true musician should not learn. Care for the instrument is important.
The pick is a nice tough, and not too shabby. The cord is very small, surprisingly low end for a company noted for excellent audio gear. It does function...but...
The guitar is really nice. It is dry, and requires setup. Perhaps a little fret dressing or easing of fretboard edges, but totally playable as is, with very few if any issues.
Honestly, I am again very impressed with your instruments.
My only dilemma is which one to get next...
Please return your gig bag to its truly legendary status...
