Does it have a five position switch?
A shopper
on Apr 22, 2022
BEST ANSWER: It has an "import style" 5-position switch (8 terminals). Since the guitar has fewer than four pickups and a single tone control, half of the switch is unused. This means that with a minor wiring modification (extra piece of wire, three solder joints), you can add "auto-split" function when in Bridge+Middle position.

Would a standard Jazzmaster pickguard fit this if I wanted to mod it?
A shopper
on Apr 22, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Haven't tried it, but just looking at them side-by-side, I'd say the pickguards are completely different and definitely not a direct replacement. That said, with enough skill, patience, time and tools, you could probably MAKE it work.

"Full Specs" says it's got a 3-way blade switch, but comments say it's got a 5-way blade switch. Any further testimony? What pickup combos are selected by the blade switch?
A shopper
on Sep 23, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Mine is a 5-way blade switch. From left to right: Neck single coil - neck and middle single coils mix - middle single coil - middle single coil and double coil mix - double coil. To be honest, I don't hear much difference between the single coils, but when the double coil is added in or on, you can hear it, much fuller. Love this guitar - I have several offsets, and this one is my favorite - excellent, smooth action, considering upgrades to pickups. Hope this helps!

Spec says neck radius is 350mm, which is almost 14". Is that an error, or is the neck really like an Ibanez/Jackson shredder?

Is there any option to get this model with the red tortoise shell pick guard?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: As a customer who bought this guitar, there are no options other than color of the body but for a guitar that costs only $139.00 you could have a custom shop install one for you. As far as the guitar, It is beautiful and it plays like it should. The only complaint is the frets are quite sharp.

Is the Indio body the same size as a Fender Jazzmaster? In other words, with the proper routing could I put a Fender pickguard on it without it hanging over the edges or looking weird?
A shopper
on May 21, 2021
BEST ANSWER: No. The Indio body is marginally smaller, and the upper horn is shaped different, and smaller.

What kind of routing does this have under the pickguard? Is it routed just for the pickups it has or is it pool routed? Does it have a route in the upper horn to make adding a rhythm circuit possible? How does it compare to the other Indio Offsets in this respect? I know, lots of questions. Just answer what you can, if you can. :)

In the fourth position, is it full humbucker with the middle pickup or one coil of the humbucker with the middle?
Louis F
on Aug 29, 2021
BEST ANSWER: It's full humbucker when in that position. But the humbucker in mine is a four-wire pickup, and half of the selector switch is not used, so "auto-split" function could be added pretty easily by someone who knows what they're doing.

BEST ANSWER: Hi and thank you for your question. The Monoprice Indio guitars are similar, but the pickguard is slightly different in shape and screw hole placement. There are a variety of custom pickguard companies out there that can make one, or if you already know how to, you can purchase a sheet, cut it, and sand it to the desired shape and size.

Awesome little Ax!
Monoprice service is AAAAA+++++
Super fast shipping and delivery. Ordered it on Tuesday, recieved it on Friday! All the way from Kentuky to Dallas.
The guitar it's self is really nice! Arrived in perfect condition and the gig bag is decent too. All the controls and tuners work as designed. The pickups are decent and will probly stay in there depending on the output. Super happy with the whole proccess and product. So happy that I ordered the OS40DLX as well.
Gonna mod the heck out of both.

Good value, with a couple knocks
I got the OS20 with the idea of modding it up, and I think it was a good purchase. When I removed the neck and pickguard, some +pros, -cons and =observations emerged.
+ it played decently out of the box
- The pots were swapped. A 500K linear pot for Vol, and a 500K audio for tone. That's backwards, and while the guitar will still work, it'll result in the volume knob having most of its action from #9 to #7.
- The neck pocket had some uneven chisel marks that looked to be hastily done by hand, and a shim.
= needed a "setup", especially at the nut. I consider this as normal for a new guitar.
+ the visible finish is flawless. It's got high gloss on the body, neck and headstock.
+ the pickup cavity is the "bathtub" style, which is great for modders
= the single coil pickups have ceramic magnets under them
- the nut material is plastic with stringy threads hanging off the string slots
Conclusion: for the price, it's a good buy. Modders will work past all the cons (except for the neck pocket).

Took 2 times but I finally got a guitar
I did not buy the OS20, I bought the OS30, with 2 single coil pickups. And yes, I love it. And I received it incredibly fast, about a week later. I'm very happy with my dlx os30. This was my second attempt to order a guitar from Monoprice, the first order was delayed, because Monoprice was undergoing warehouse restructuring, so they claimed. When I expressed my frustration at such a long wait time, I said if Monoprice couldn't deliver the guitar in a months time, I may have to cancel the order. Next thing I know, Monoprice cancels my order! I had to reorder, but the second order was for a less expensive model, the dlx os30. Well Monoprice sped my order right to me. I was happily amazed at how fast it came. So that's my account of doing business with Monoprice. Thank you.

Indio Offset (Jag) guitar
I have many NICE guitars ranging from American Fenders to Gibson , Gretch, Ibanez , Epiphones and Squires. I have 2 guitar techs that can do amazing things with even the "not as nice" guitar. This guitar came out of the very nice gig bag and without much effort became a very nice playing and sounding guitar. I would gig and record with this guitar. these pickups have a nice variety of tone colors.. I would buy another one but I now have 2. Its a great guitar for a small amount of money.

Great bones to work with
It's an amazing deal, especially for the $115 sale price that I got it for. At it's core, it's a very usable instrument. As you would expect at this price point, it's gonna need some time (and possibly, money) put toward a good setup. I have shimmed and adjusted the neck, re-cut the string slots in the nut, and adjusted the intonation. The 12th fret sits a bit high, and I will tackle that problem this weekend. With all that said, I'm quite happy with my purchase and am looking forward to playing it for years to come.

Great tone, fit and finish, a true bargain.
This has tone like no other guitar I own. I purchased to get a rosewood neck and it feels fine. Also it cost less than re-necking the strat copy.
Positions 2&4 give the best scooped out sound I have ever heard.
The neck was free from the jagged fret wire like on the strat copy.
Great value, fit and finish with excellent pickups. Does it play like a guitar costing ten to fifteen dollars more; no however, for the cost it is a gem.
