Stage Right by Monoprice 9x10W Quad LED Flat PAR RGBW Stage Wash Light 90W Output
Stage Right by Monoprice 3x 3W LED Truss Warmer DMX RGB PAR Stage Wash Light with Remote
BEST ANSWER: The fixtures have different purposes. I recently purchased a TRUSST Goal Post truss system. I use four of these truss wash lights to warm the truss. The truss lights are quite bright within the first six feet of truss. After that, it gets a bit dimmer, but still works well warming the inside of the truss. I also purchased eight of the 10x9 flat par stage lights to hang from the truss. The 10x9 lights are VERY bright and in smaller rooms, we angle them about 45 degrees towards the floor. Even at that angle, they put out quite a bit of light in front of the band.
Both fixtures have some weak, typical fade auto-run shows. However, the 10x9 fixtures have a "follow" mode that can be used to simulate chase effects using two or more fixtures. Since we have eight of these fixtures, the follow mode is quite attractive. (Follow mode can be controlled with the back panel or with DMX.)
Depending on my needs, I would definitely purchase either of these products.

Stage Right by Monoprice 9x10W Quad LED Flat PAR RGBW Stage Wash Light 90W Output
i haven’t seen the truss fixture in action, but the difference between 3w x 3 led’s vs. 10w x 9 led’s is pretty substantial as far as brightness. You also get a separate white whereas the truss fixture only has rgb which won’t produce the same color temp as having the separate true-ish white to play with. The truss fixture has the remote option which is helpful when not using a dmx controller, but in my opinion, if you plan on using your lights for anything besides warming up truss or similar accent type lighting you get much more bang for your buck with the other one.

I am not familiar with the Stage right truss, However I can say that if you are looking for an LED that is bright the Flat PAR stage light is not your light. It creates more of a light wash at a distance than I would have liked. But for the price point you get what you pay for. I'd recommend the Ultra Bright LED by monoprice. It's more versatile than the Flat PAR

Will this product work with a Leprecon LP 624 console and LD 360 DMX dimmer?
A shopper
on Mar 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It doesn't need a dimmer as it is an LED fixture with onboard dimming but for the Lepracon it should work fine. You just have to select the simplest mode. I think its 4 channel but I don't have one on front of me right now. Then select the address, the first will be 1, the second will be 5, etc. unless you want them to all do the same thing then they can have the same address.
then the first channel will operate red, the second will operate green , etc.

You do not need a dimmer with LED lights and a dimmer in line could damage the light by reducing the amount of power it receives. The light is DMX assignable and you will be able to control the light through just your console. Also, the DMX input/output is 3 pin, not 5 so you will need to adapt your DMX cable to fit.

You don’t want to put the fixture on a dimmer pack. You can fry your fixture by doing that. These fixtures have dimming capabilities built in on a DMX channel so you just need to plug them in to a traditional power outlet and add to your dmx daisy chain.

not sure if you are familiar with led lights or not. These have a long life. However, Ive had my 8 for close to 8 months. no problems. Have other friends that have had them several year traveling and had no bulb problems. If anything goes wrong, I would say it would be more of an internal problem not the bulbs. thats the only thing Ive heard happen.

They are not conventional bulbs. They are LEDs. Usually LEDs are rated for about 50000 hours I think. Usually not replaceable.

I have several of these, on DMX control, and one has started flashing and strobing when the music is loud, even when all of the DMX channels are set to 0! Can anyone tell me what settings I need to check to stop this (with most fixtures, DMX Mode supersedes all other modes, but I guess not with this one)? It's mounted very high, so it's hard to just mess around with it to fix the settings . . . Thank you!

I had to replace 2 older lights (approx 5 years old) whose cases had cracked and could no longer be suspended from my light bar. The older lights (exact same model number - 612749) were under the Monoprice Pro Audio Brand while the 2 new ones carry the Stage Right brand. When I powered on the new lights, I noticed that the menu is completely different. The new menu has fewer options, but does have an option to set the color and save it so it always powers up to that color. The old menu does not, to my knowledge, provide that capability. Does anyone know if the firmware in the older lights can be upgraded to the new menu or if there is a way to do a static color selection in the old menu that recalls on power up?

Great band for the buck!
These lights are a great band for the buck. Are there better lights out there? Of course! But for $65 each, these guys work great. Smooth fading. We had 4 on each side of a 50' stage and it was adequate. I wouldn't go much further/bigger than that without having more fixtures. Most our stages are 24 to 32' wide and these guys are perfect.

Look Pretty Good so far I have to mount them but the DMX function works. What I did not know is fan stays on whenever plugged in so you will need to unplug from power source (not so good for stationary lighting to be mounted near ceiling). Make sure you put in place you can disconnect power or use in a portable setup.

Decent light, but look elsewhere for higher quality
This Monoprice LED Par light boasts decent specs and is the cheapest in it's class, yet it's build quality is much lower than you'll find around. I'm comparing this to an ADJ Par56, and it pales in comparison. A few things I don't like about it:
- LOUD fan that runs constantly (DEAL-BREAKER for me)
- Very cheap plastic enclosure. It feels and sounds cheap when you touch it.
- Dinky yoke / support legs. They obviously hold the light up, but they won't last too long in a more abusive / transient environment.
That being said, it's light output is great - and it packs features that most other more expensive lights carry. It might work well in a loud environment where it says fixed, but in quiet places -- this is a no-go for me.

Cheapest at this brightness
These are the cheapest wash lights I have seen that are bright enough to use for front light in small venues. I usually have them for a color wash on stage or for up-wash accents on walls. Build is a little flimsy, but can't get any better near this price. I have 24 in my inventory.

Good value for money, but Quality Control issues
I've ordered a total of 9 of these, so obviously I think they're worth the money. But of the 9, two were physically broken upon arrival, with no real visible damage to the box. I've returned these and had them replaced by Monoprice, so all good there. Two of the units were intact, but had something loose rattling around inside. Upon disassembly and inspection, (in both cases) it turned out to be the circuit board, whose plastic mounts had broken. In my opinion, it is because the manufacturer saved a penny or two by only using 2 screws to mount it (opposite corners) instead of using 4 as designed. I was able to repair and reassemble the unit.

Bad menu button
This lights are very bright, but as mentioned in other reviews, the screws that hold the yoke on come loose very easy and I had 1 of the last ones I purchased have the menu button go out so I can no longer make any changes to functions of the light, it is stuck in DMX only now.

Very bright, but weak bracket mount holes.
Have bought 2 new and 4 refurbished. One new unit came in with cracked case where mounting brackets screw in and is being replaced. 2 of the 4 refurbs had non working fans and 1 or two colors non operational. 2 of these also had cracked frame where brackets mount. When operational, they are very bright and dmx works fine. I am only using for a couple occasions a year so should hold up. Am planning on epoxying around mount brackets as this is obvious week spot.Even with that, they are still a good deal and 1/2 to 1/3 of name brand units. If you are handy and can work around a few cosmetic issues, then they are a great deal

Limited Output
I measured the output and it seems low, maybe 1000 lumens. But I rarely see specs on LED lighting fixtures. The main beam was about 25 degrees with a lot of expected spill. For theatrical purposes it is probably usable from a distance of 10 feet for a dim scean or DJ wall wash effects. I am going to test a brand name in the future, The fan is loud for some applications but it may be able to be baffled. I did buy the 36 LED mover hoping a different led was used. Have not opened the box yet.,
I have been doing related technology work in churches for 40 years MassMediaMaker com will eventually have comprehensive recommendations. I am evaluating a MP camera for an ultra low cost video solution.
Check out the flat ethernet cable huge problem solver for churches and other difficult install situations. I think it could be run under a carpet. MP is a sub of a very very large cable manufacturer.

great value, but....
...the reason it gets only 4 stars is because of the lack of power-through on these units. there are far cheaper fixtures out there, but which allow for daisy-chaining the power (i found some for about $35 that have 7 RGBW LEDs, as opposed to the 9 of this fixture).
also, they're made pretty cheaply (plastic housing); treat them well - cushion them in transport, don't over-tighten the bracket locks, &c. - & they should last a good, long time.
