Amp specs state amp is rated for 8-16 ohm loads. If jacks were parallel, (2) 8ohm Celestion Vin30's would present a 4 ohm load, which would blow the amp. I'm sure the designer/manufacturer knew that, and provided a series wiring configuration..... so you can buy 2 of their cabs without fear!

How do you plug in two cabinets?
A shopper
on Sep 16, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The 2 cabinets would have to be 8, or 16 ohm cabinets, and you would need to know what the resistance, (ohms rating) on the cabinets is, before plugging them in. If using 2 8 ohm cabinets, make sure the"0hm" switch on the back of the amp is set to 4 ohms, and plug each cabinet into one of the 2 output jacks. If the cabinets are 16 ohm rating, the "ohm" switch should be on 8 ohms, and both can be plugged in, one in each jack. In other words, 2 (8) ohm cabs presents a 4 ohm load to the amp, using the 2 output jacks, on the amp, (2) 16 ohm cabs present an 8 ohm total load, using the 2 output jacks...on the amp, hope this all helps you.

The cab has an output jack to connect to a second cab. You would need to change the impedance setting/switch on the back of the amp to account for the additional amp since the 2 cabs would then be in a parallel connection. I believe there are several questions and answers in this section that dig into more detail about what those impedance settings should be.

Go to 'Google and type in 1/4" male to double 1/4" jack female connector. There, you will find the connector you can use. Make sure to check the impedance to make sure it's alright on the amp. Good luck. I'm going to do the same thing

I noticed a previous question about running two of these 8ohm cabs in parallel, which was deemed possible. Can these amps safely handle a 4 ohm load?
Joe M
on Feb 17, 2020
BEST ANSWER: If you use two 8 ohm cabinets utilizing the two output/speaker jacks, put the switch in the 4 ohm position as they will be running in parallel thus a 4 ohm load. Even if the second cabinet might have a 16 ohm speaker, still put the switch in the 4 ohm position as indicated by the line drawn between the switch and the output jack. The impedance in this case will be less than 8 ohms (more like about 6 ohms).
Also, even if you only use one of the output jacks from the amp to one speaker and then connect that speaker, put the switch in the 4 ohm position as the load to the amp will be less than 8 ohms.
The only caveat to that is if you are running with two 16ohm cabinets, you would set the switch to 8 ohms as that is what the load impedance will be.

I just received this amp and cabinet combo and a second cabinet I bought separately, The Back of the amp head has 2 speaker connections. 1 is 8 ohms and the other is switchable for 8-16 ohms. The Speaker cabinets are 8 ohms each. I have emailed tech support to find out if you can plug 1 cabinet into the 8 ohm output and the other in the 8-16 ohm output without burning out the amp head or can we really run the 2nd cabinet at all. I will update this when I find out the answer I hope this helps!!!

Yes, Monoprice has a better picture of the back of the amp on the listing for the cabinet, 611899. You can see a switch by the speaker outs for 8 or 4 ohm total load. Perhaps a better pic of the amp would be better suited on the listing that includes the amp??

If your 8 ohm speakers are wired o in series they would still be 8 ohms.. If you were to wire them
parallel the ohmage is reduced to 4 ohms. I would recommend that you set your amp foro 4 ohm. DO NOT run your amp at a higher ohmage than your speaker cabinet.. You can BOW YOUR AMP!

The description says it comes with a TRS cable as the speaker cable...is this correct? Most speaker cab cables are TS, not TRS. I plan on using an attenuator for home use and I don't think it would work with a TRS cable. The footswitch needs to be TRS, but the speaker cable should be a TS cable.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, there is a switch in back, just flip it to 4 ohms instead of 8 ohms. It's generally OK to run an amp's output at less than the speaker load. NEVER Run it at more than the load, it would result in a fried transformer!

Wake the neighbors!
30 watt tube head, great cab with 12 inch Celestion Vintage 30 speaker. What's not to like? I'm a bedroom rocker and this bad boy is way overkill. My only niggle is the lack of a master volume control. I put a volume pedal in the fx loop and this does make it much more managable. The stack is great and I got it at half price sale. Just a stupid crazy value that I couldn't pass up. Sounds great, plenty options for sculpting your tone. It will blow your socks off.

Terrific value for a tube amp
Pleasantly surprised at how great this amp is. Solid build, awesome sound, rivals amps costing much much more. JnJ tubes in it too

It's a JMP circuit
This is a fantastic amp at an incredible price. It's a JMP circuit. Start with Mids and Treble at 10, Bass at 0 and go from there.
I replaced the V30 with a WGS Reaper HP, the V30 has specific applications and open-backed cabs at bedroom levels aren't one of them. Cutting through a loud band mix and recording, perfect.
It is just a great package, and inexpensive enough to buy a second if you need a backup.

Great tube tones
I own the 5 watt, 15 watt and now the 30 watt Stage Right tube amps. Love them all. No better amps for the money.

Looked good but didn't work
Only worked for 30 seconds then loses all sound. Was told I can exchange it but won't have more in stock until june, got on sale was told I would get refund and buy it again. If I decide to buy again maybe it will work. I assumed they had shops to take it for warranty work but they dont!
