If using the output jack to hook two of the 12" V30 together would the impedance be 16 (series) or 4 (parallel)?

Stage Right by Monoprice 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30
BEST ANSWER: Amp specs state amp is rated for 8-16 ohm loads. If jacks were parallel, (2) 8ohm Celestion Vin30's would present a 4 ohm load, which would blow the amp. I'm sure the designer/manufacturer knew that, and provided a series wiring configuration..... so you can buy 2 of their cabs without fear!

Tony also used various speakers and cabinets with Laney, Marshalls and some other custom amps for recording. There is quite a bit of info on the internet, just do some searching.

I noticed a previous question about running two of these 8ohm cabs in parallel, which was deemed possible. Can these amps safely handle a 4 ohm load?
Joe M
on Feb 17, 2020
BEST ANSWER: If you use two 8 ohm cabinets utilizing the two output/speaker jacks, put the switch in the 4 ohm position as they will be running in parallel thus a 4 ohm load. Even if the second cabinet might have a 16 ohm speaker, still put the switch in the 4 ohm position as indicated by the line drawn between the switch and the output jack. The impedance in this case will be less than 8 ohms (more like about 6 ohms).
Also, even if you only use one of the output jacks from the amp to one speaker and then connect that speaker, put the switch in the 4 ohm position as the load to the amp will be less than 8 ohms.
The only caveat to that is if you are running with two 16ohm cabinets, you would set the switch to 8 ohms as that is what the load impedance will be.

I just received this amp and cabinet combo and a second cabinet I bought separately, The Back of the amp head has 2 speaker connections. 1 is 8 ohms and the other is switchable for 8-16 ohms. The Speaker cabinets are 8 ohms each. I have emailed tech support to find out if you can plug 1 cabinet into the 8 ohm output and the other in the 8-16 ohm output without burning out the amp head or can we really run the 2nd cabinet at all. I will update this when I find out the answer I hope this helps!!!

Yes, Monoprice has a better picture of the back of the amp on the listing for the cabinet, 611899. You can see a switch by the speaker outs for 8 or 4 ohm total load. Perhaps a better pic of the amp would be better suited on the listing that includes the amp??

Is this amplifier the same design as your 15 watt combo amp except you've doubled the amplifier output? I see one amp is 2 EL84s and the other is 4 EL84s, I'm just wondering if these amps have the same tonal characteristics or are they different? Also, is the reverb a spring reverb?

Outstanding Amp
Excellent quality build and sound. Very usable overdrive and reverb with a very warm and full sound. Comes with a two switch pedal that turns the reverb and overdrive on and off, Darrel Braun on YouTube has a great review/demo video where he opens up the Amp so yo can take a look inside. Very impressive. At its current price this Amp is truly a steal.

The quality rivals stacks from major more experienced and well known brands. Have not taken it on the road yet but it appears that it will hold up well.

Stage Right 30 watt tube amp stack
This small piggy back combination has two separate output power tube amp channels. It also has two preamp and one preamp dedicated to each channel. It doesn't have as much gain as the Stage Right 15watt amp, not does it have the tube driven, spring reverb tank. It does have channel switching and reverb remote pedal. This amp will lend itself to many styles of music. At higher volumes the amp's power amps breaks up quite nicely.

Buy It!
This is the best guitar amp that I've ever played and owned. The cabinet and enclosure have very high build quality, and I am sure that the internal components are of the same level. The V30 speaker accentuates frequencies very well. It has a very wide range and a pleasant response. I've been able to use this amp and speaker combination to record a wide range of sounds-guitar, synthesizer, electric pianos, and bass-with exceptional results.
The clean channel is very flexible, due to the amp circuitry and the bright switch. The crunch channel has light overdrive, similar to vintage 60-70's tones (Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, etc...). It is not designed for high gain. It can be boosted into. The fx loop is quiet and it takes pedals extremely well.
Though I cannot rate the long-term durability of the amp and cabinet yet, I can say that I would buy another set immediately if something happened to this one, due to the quality of sound. I am strongly considering buying another set regardless.
My verdict for anyone interested: Buy It!

Amp great....support not so
Arrived on time, sounds great, well made, love the jj power tubes... and v30 speaker. Only problem is the reverb doesn't work!!
Tried chatting with customer service... no help said they would foward request to tech support.
Tried 2 times to email support but it won't send won't take my order number!!! Owners manual is a joke, FAQS can't even answer the question of asking about oHm change when adding 2nd speaker.
Be good to know if V2 controls reverb and which 2 el84s are clean and which 2 are distorted without Taking it apart
Yes I would buy again

Some issues, but sounds great
I had some issues with the head, which arrived to me DOA. No power LED, nothing. Upon inspection after removing the grille I found that one of the power transformer connectors had come loose, probably during shipping. I fixed this and it powered right up and sounded great. Easy right? No...
After about an hour of playing and enjoying the amp I heard a small "pop" sound and the amp was dead again, this time with the LED on but absolutely no sound output. I took the chassis out and found a hidden internal fuse (looks like a black cylinder shape on the circuit board) that had popped out of it's locking holder. BUT, the mechanism was broken so the fuse couldn't be re-seated. The design is terrible for accessing this fuse and it's not mentioned anywhere in documentation. I would be worried about a hard bump un-seating this fuse holder in the field.
I eventually replaced the whole fuse holder with a better style, but no normal user would probably do this, and you'd just be stuck with a dead amp and having to send it back under warranty or take it to a local repair shop.

Great Tube Tone at a solid state price!
Very nice tones from this amp, clean or dirty!
I have been using it mic’d with a 609 clone, haven’t had the chance to crank it yet.
I use a roadhouse Strat and fine on the dirty channel with the gain at 5 I can get a great, clear cleanish tone, and then hit the Strats preamp and have some nice grit!
Not fizzy fuzzy grit, but nice organic breakup that is very pleasing to the ear.
I run a TC Plethora in the FX loop and get great results, no jump or drop in volume, just sounds natural.
For some extra gain I use a Boss OD200 into the front of the amp, glorious!!
Quite surprising that an amp of this build and sound quality is available at this price point but it is and I’m glad I pulled the trigger on it.
Looks to be plywood for amp cab and speaker cab, nice touch.
All this and a V30 speaker! I don’t know when or if the speaker will “break in” but I’ll be using the amp mic’d most of the time so it may take awhile, and honestly couldn’t imagine it sounding any better!
Only had it a few days, and haven’t moved it since I set it up so I can’t speak for how long it will last in the long run, but fingers are crossed.
