How do you plug these cables in for power?

BEST ANSWER: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=611690
You will need a 9v power supply (like the one above) that will connect to the daisy-chain and providing power for 8 basic effects pedals.

If you look at the first picture, there are 8 male 2.1 mm plugs to go into pedals. The far left is a female 2.1 mm jack. This receives DC power from your power source. You must have a DC power source as this is just a simple distribution solution.

It has a female 9 volt connector but you can use any of the male connectors as well. If you need all 8 male connectors and your power supply has a female connector than you will need an double ended male adapter.

You need a standard pedal power adapter (or other pedal power supply). Plug your power adapter into the input jack on this adapter, and it distributes that power to all the daisy-chained outputs to your pedals.

This harness has 9 leads. One female that plugs into a DC 9v (?) power Transformer which is sold separately and the other 8 male plugs are for your effects pedals.
There is no power supply in this harness!

It includes a converter that you plug in to a regular US style electric outlet. The pictured connections are the part you plug in to pedals ( and maybe some other devices).

I don't see any caps mentioned or in any pictures. Are there plastic caps for the ones not being used? I've seen these things spark before

I've bought 3 sets and none of them came with caps. A cheap and easy remedy for the situation is to buy a role of 3/4" electrical tape, wrap around the metal of each unused plug 2 or 3 times, and pinch the end closed. It works as good as a factory made plastic cap. Only drawback is it can't be easily slipped on and off like the plastic cap. But how often do you need to do that?

Hey Daniel, there's no caps included for the ones not being used. I've had these for over a year and I've never had a problem with them. It helps to keep the loose ones tidy with a cable to.

No caps, but also no sparking to Be seen. Not sure if you’re a touring musician with crap power lines for your gigs, but in most home applications you shouldn’t be seeing sparks.

There aren't caps. I've had this for a while, though I haven't used it anywhere but at home. I haven't had a problem with it, and it's worked well for me.

There are no caps on the ends.
I just use electrical tape on the ones that I don't use and that works fine.

I thought about that! Does it not leave a residue when you take it off to use it? Maybe masking tape
No, mine didn't come with caps, but that's a really good idea. I've always worried about that.

I would like to power several Yamaha Reface keyboards with this. Will that work? Spec sheets indicate that they consume 6W of power, and typically use a 12V adapter

BEST ANSWER: This daisy-chain powered connector is designed to work with 9-18V power supplies. The question is how much total mill-amperage do you need (mA). I would not recommend over 2000mA, again, that is total power of all devices plugged in.

Well, some 9volt batteries have a different ma after 9 volt on your batteries. I have little experience with keyboards. I use my Godlyke package with all types of 9 volters. Never had a problem. The monoprice cat o 9 tails works just fine! You should call a music store near your place or go to the manufacturer's web page and send them your questions. Best o luck billfromthenix

The power will not be an issue. However, you should be concerned about the part that plugs into the keyboard. If yo can plug in a power supply for a boss guitar effect pedal, then you should be okay.

You should check the volts and power figures. Also, measure the distances between each input so you won't be short.

Would this work with a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus as the power source? Want to make sure its compatible before getting. Thanks

BEST ANSWER: This could work, just make sure that the overall current draw of the pedals that you want to power is not greater than that of the output you are using and that all of the pedals use the same polarity (usually pedals are negative tip, but not all!). Of course, the reason to use a VL Pedal Power 2 is to have isolated outputs and just power one pedal per output. Using a daisy chain in this situation would not give you the "clean" isolated outputs that you bought the VL unit for in the first place. You might introduce hum or other noise into the signal path, but it could work...as long as the current requirements are met. I use these daisy chains on my pedal board, and I do not have any problems with noise or anything else, but I rarely play on stages with a lot of cables running here and there and lights blaring down at me. It is possible that noise would really become an issue in that sort of situation. I hope that this helps!

The Vodo device takes 120V input directly from your wall outlet. This cable would not work as a power source.
The Voodo device, as listed on Sweetwater, includes the outputs and cables for powering 8 devices. If you needed to power more than 8 pedals, you could attach this cable to the end of a single output cable from that device and have an additional 7 outputs. As long as those cables fit into a common pedal power port it should be fine.
You may need to be careful with where the positive pin is, but these cables will just pass through whatever your original source is.

High quality for low price
The quality of the chain was excellent. Usually the wires are as thin as
those on a cheap walwart supply. These were quite heavy and I am sure they will last for a long time. I am a long time Monoprice customer and they never cease to impress me on the quality of their merchandise at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Monoprice gets a bad wrap with some of their cables but this daisy chain pedal cable works like charm. If you need a pedal daisy cable then you can't go wrong with this one from Monoprice.
