Dave, Is there any way I can speak with you on the phone or face to face? I live in rancho Cucamonga. I also met you at the NAMM show a few times. I think in 2017 and 2018. But I have a few questions I need to ask and further in depth than I can here. I am going to buy a bass, just need to get a few tech questions answered before i place my order. 1) whats the difference in electronics (Pots used) between the 5 string and the 4 string flamed Maple?
2) any difference in the pick ups?
3) the Flamed Maple, is it just the topped flamed maple or is the body basswood with a maple outter?
4) have you personally played both Bass's the flamed Maple vs the 5 string?
5) What comments have you heard from customers that aren't posted here that you can share the would help me decide between the 4 sting or 5 string? thanks

BEST ANSWER: The bosses don't let me out of the cage very often. Lots of guys with lots of questions, I'd never get anything else done.
Electronics are pretty similar in all models, the flame and quilts have slightly hotter pickups.
All of my guitar bodies are basswood except for the new Boardwalk Hollow Bodies, Maple.
All flame and quilt tops are about 1/16" veneer, no photos.
All flame and quilt tops go through our luthier.
I personally play all of the models before I launch them. I really focus on the woods since electronics are easy and cheap to upgrade. I do put effort into making sure the instruments sound like the style they represent.
Aside from the haters that like bashing imported guitars, the overall experience as been good. Not a lot of feedback on the 5-string yet.

I've seen the Youtube videos of unpackaging and the shipping packaging does not appear to be adequate. It looks like it would be easy to damage the guitar in shipping. Do you have a return policy that covers damage?

Could I switch out necks with my Indio pbass with a maple fingerboard?

BEST ANSWER: Can’t say for sure, but I’ll give you some specs. Four (screws) and a square plate on the back holding the neck in place. Neck is 2.25 inches thick when measured on the back of the bass. Hope this helps.

Like many reviewers stated, the box is all banged up, but somehow the case and instrument is perfectly fine.
It's a fine quality instrument for the price and if you're into mods, it seems easy enough (though I haven't done any yet).

Great Bass For The Price
The bass is full scale and has a good sound. I've played musical instruments for over 50 years. I wish their was instruments like this when I was growing up. Very affordable and comes with good hardware

Incredible value for the money!
I did refinish the headstock, and swapped the bridge out for a Gotoh 201. Other than that very happy, and think it's an incredible value for the money.

Playable right out of the box. Polished frets, nice finish and action, and looks better than I expected. I've never purchased an instrument that was a better value than this bass, period!

Great Bass - Great Feel - Great Sound - Great Customer Service
This bass easily deserves 5 stars. The set up was great right out of the box and the pickups sound great. Has warm tone but good punch. The tuners are big but hold tune very well. I've had it in and out of the car and still in tune. Overall so happy with fit and finish of this bass. Thank goodness it comes shipped in a case since the box it ships in offers little protection. The box came completely ripped open and when I opened it there was a crack in the lacquered finish (luckily on the side so not noticeable). I called customer service to see if they would offer any price adjustment and after sending pictures of box and damage they offered a $25 credit off. Monoprice customer service was great to deal with. I'd purchased this bass when Monoprice was offering a 20% sale and had a $5 coupon so instead of the regular $199 price, I paid $145 and then with the $25 credit applied - I'm in for $118! I will definitely buy from Monoprice again and would definitely recommend this Jamm Bass to anyone. TOTALLY SATISFIED WITH PURCHASE AND DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.
