Pickup mis-alignment
The guitar I received had both pickups mis-aligned with the strings. The neck pickup was the worse - with the 4th, 5th, 6th strings barely over the bottom tip of the pole pieces. The bridge pickup is off-centered by 2-3 mm on I see this exact issue mentioned in one of the reviews, and the image shows this issue as well. Wondering if anyone has had any guitars that came with the pickups properly aligned? I am guessing the pickups are slightly larger by 2-3 mm than what the guitar was specced for.

Has anybody received the DLX Plus Mahogany where the pickup pins were aligned correctly with the strings?
(Looking for some help here - I'd rather not send it in for a replacement if this is a consistent issue, as otherwise I'm happy with the guitar itself.)

No luthier ever touched this guitar
After unpacking it, I immediately tuned the guitar and discovered the high E string was wrapped under one of the frets. A luthier wouldn't have shipped a guitar out like that. All 6 saddles were loose and rattled when the guitar was strummed. So that means the intonation wasn't set. I had serious fret buzz on all 6 strings at the first fret. Probably because the action was too low. It was ridiculously low. Made the guitar play fast on parts of the neck, but not without fret buzz when playing lower down the neck.
All in all, pretty disappointed. I've had good luck with other Monoprice products in the past. This one is a miss, though.

Returned.
I returned it..It had clearly not been set up by your " master luthier" as the neck was so badly out of whack I don't think it was ever going to be playable. Too bad. I have had good luck with most monoprice purchases including guitars.

Buyer beware. If its real inexpensive, there is a reason for that.
I received the guitar and the bass E string buzzed. I had to bring it to my luthier and we HAD to changed the nut due to the fact that the slots were TOO deep to be able to play. After that, my luthier had to file down all the frets. I actually expected this to happen when the guitar is $249 and made in China. It plays pretty good now. And the finish is nice. Buyer beware as usual? And when I reached out to Monoprice, I got no reply. So the bottom line is that Monoprice does NOT have expert luthiers as aadvertised.

Very good for the price
Decent sounding LP-style guitar. Mine came with some minor finish blemishes and rough fret edges for the price, it's an excellent guitar.

Wonderful guitar
Love this guitar. Setup is nice. The finish is absolutely beautiful. Neck is well dressed and the frets are nearly perfect. I love the stock pickups and the tuners and bone nut hold tune very well.

Almost happy with it.
When I first got the instrument I of course was excited, it's always fun when you find a new guitar on your porch. When unboxing I was impressed by the finish. Very nice. Tuners and pots all seemed acceptable. (I did install speed knobs as I prefer them). It wasn't until I started playing it that something seemed a bit off. I just didn't feel right. After a bit of examination I discovered what the issue was. The nut was not cut centered on the finger board. I know I could have sent it back but instead chose to take it to my preferred luthier and have them make me a new nut. I'm hoping that when I get it back it will be as nice to play as I am expecting.
On a side note, the gig bag is really nice. I wish they were sold individually as it is one of the nicest I have ever owned.

I?m so glad i bought this guitar! i might even try some of their other modes now.
so when i received this guitar the toggle switch had been damaged in shipping. mono price did replace it, but i swapped it out for a better switch. other than that i have NO complaints! this guitar sounds warm, it plays great, has good weight to the body, the fretwork is pretty good, it was pretty well set up, though not perfect. the gold sparkle is. it quite Gibson gold and the neck not quite a Gibson neck, but i actually prefer it?s feel over the $3000.00 Gibson i have. While this guitar does not sound just as the more expensive one i own, it?s nothing to scoff at and all but the most snobbish players would consider this a steal. For the price i think that as a gigging guitar this will allow you to rest more comfortably between sets and as a daily player it will give you a great guitar to write, practice and just look cool with. if you?re a parent thinking about this for your kid at holiday or birthday time, think no more, this is a great guitar and if this is the style they want this would make a much better guitar than i got for my first guitar, heck it better that ones i paid twice the price for. oh ya, i know other guitar players who own Monoprice guitars, and every single one of them agree that where bang for the buck is concerned, you be hard price to find better!

Bought for a Christmas Present - Greate at first glance
Bought this in Oct when they first cam back in stock for a Christmas present. Knew that I had to buy it then or they would quickly run out of stock and you may not see them again for a year or more. After unboxing, it had no apparent defects or blemishes, and played great. Then it went back in the box and I am not supposed to see it until Christmas day.

Nice!
A very nice guitar. It does everything it is supposed to do for a Les Paul style guitar. It arrived well set up and ready to play with a simple guitar tune. Fret ends were smooth and it plays well. Nice job Monoprice.
