Is it possible to add a guitar strap to this guitar as I don't see the round metal catch on the acoustic end in the photos., Or is that something one doesn't do with 3/4 sized guitars?

I really enjoy playing the guitar because its light and easy to hold. I have several guitars that are full size electric but I choose to play the smaller guitars when I want to practice. There are straps that go around the neck that do not need the metal buttons. I personally don't use a strap because I'm usually sitting.

Use one of the straps that goes around the body of the guitar and hooks in the sound hole. Like Willie Nelson. In order to attach one of the other types which would mean drilling a hole in the body and putting in a screw on attachment.

You could easily do that. He would have to buy the appropriate hardware and follow the directions and you would be able to attach a guitar strap. I have done this before. It’s easy.Enter an answer to this question.

no extra strings, no tuner. There was a gig bag. It's a decent guitar for the price. I upgraded the tuners so it stayed in tune better

Does this have a "nitrocellulose" finish?
I ask bc I want to use the Monoprice Classic Guitar Stand (Product # 602100) but that product states, "Note that the rubber tubing will interact with the chemicals in a nitrocellulose finish and can ruin the finish where it comes in contact with the rubber. Never allow a guitar with a nitrocellulose finish to come into contact with rubber tubing." Thanks!

Stage Right by Monoprice Classic Tripod Stand for Electric and Acoustic Guitars
BEST ANSWER: Nitro finishes are almost exclusive to vintage guitars or more expensive guitars going for a "vintage" vibe. Almost all modern guitars including all of our Indio and Idyllwild acoustics and electrics use a polyurethane finish. The rubber tubing of the stand will not effect the finish of the guitar.

I have the guitar but I just keep it in the bag. I would wrap the rubber with cloth if your not sure of the finish. Enter

How wide is the fret board? Smaller than a standard classical guitar?
A shopper
on Apr 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is smaller than a standard classical guitar in all dimensions including the fretboard width., it is difficult to fret accurately if you have hands/fingers even approaching “large”. I can get an exact measurement if you want. This is the first Monoprice item I have requested a return authorization. ;)

How is the action / string height? Easy for little hands to play?
New User U
on Aug 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This 3/4 size classical guitar is designed and set-up for young players. Action is low enough that only a small amount of pressure is required to play notes but not so low the strings rattle. Enjoy

Due to the short scale length, the strings are easy to push down and it's a classical, so it's easy to play. The neck is kind of thick so that might make it a little hard to play for little hands.

Two questions....I'm an idiot on guitars, so here we go. 1) Is there a left handed version of this guitar? 2) Is this good for a 9.5 year old, or do you go full length?
Matt W
on Dec 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We do not have lefty version of this guitar. Some internet research will show you how fairly easy it is to "flip" this classical guitar to lefty. Have your 9.5 year old sit with bow of the guitar resting on their left leg. Extend the right hand. The middle finger of the left hand should be able to touch the very end of the headstock. This smaller guitar is a great way to start even if it is a little short for your player. When they get comfortable and learn a few tunes then you can step them up to on of our full size guitars.

Compared to the other nylons of other companies which is also a 3/4, how does this model make it worth the buy? What makes this guitar unique to play, and how wide is the fretboard? I have large hands, but the yamaha 3/4 guitar I tried in class was perfect, Im mostly concerned about the actual width because I have an electric with a small neck

BEST ANSWER: It’s a $50 guitar. About $100 less than the Yamaha, $60 less than a Valencia. Almost every comment I read, it’s a good guitar. The one video I found on YouTube, it seems like a good guitar. What I see is that monoprice is able to make guitars comparable to the ones mentioned and almost half the cost. Nothing really unique other than it is comparable to a $150 Fender classical guitar for more than half of that price so if you’re looking for a 3/4 classical guitar the worth buying is on the amount of $$ you’re going to save for a guitar that does work. Make sure you want a 3/4 because I almost bought but chose to go to a store first and realized the full size would work best for me. Good luck and happy spending.

Well priced classical guitar
Nice little classical guitar come with nice strings and a great price.
The two criticisms are the bridge has a sharp edge and the end of the frets can hurt your hand.
Both of these problems can be fixed with a little hand filing.
Mostly the price is great for a smaller guitar that feels like a classical.

Amazing!
I was going to say a great guitar for the money, but it's just a great guitar period. The only fault I can find with it is the high E string intonation is a bit off, the bridge should be angled. But how many of us play up at the 12th fret. The finish, tone and playability are all excellent. A drop of light oil on the tuner gears helps. I only wish they would skip the cheesy gig bag and put the money into a better shipping carton. Mine arrived with a big hole in it but luckily the guitar wasn't damaged. I own a vintage Martin 000-28C and I'd rather play this. Try one, you'll like it.
A beautiful little guitar!
