Is the finish on the blonde nitrocellulose or Polyurethane?

BEST ANSWER: I wouldn’t know with certainty. I’ve never had nor seen a nitro finish but I understand there’s an unmistakable odor with nitro. This guitar doesn’t smell any different than all my other guitars which are all poly. The finish is consistent with my others. So, I’d say Poly. The guitar is great at the price regardless.

Pretty sure it's poly. Looks like poly to me. Nitrocellulose is a finish that you're only likely to find on expensive guitars.

All guitars under $1000. Are polyurethane. Including this beautiful finish.

Is the bridge on the blonde guitar a "top-loader" type like in the pictures, or "strings through the body" like the other two colors?

Both - mine came strings through the body but running them through the bridge works as well.

BEST ANSWER: I haven't had occasion to open it up. Whichever they are, the tone and sustain are terrific on this guitar.

Butterscotch tele
I returned it. Looked okay but had rough spot on the neck below the 14th fret. Also had a grounding issue. To get rid of the hum you had to touch the input plug.

Nice and heavy budget tele.
It's well-built and the finish is very good. It really sounds great but is too heavy for my taste. If you like a heavy guitar it is a great buy. It weighs about 10 lbs , so it's not abnormally heavy just not for me.

Unexpected rosewood fretboard
Great guitar at a ridiculously low price. The only thing I'll note is that mine arrived with a rosewood 'board like the natural finish one (which I also have). The cream guitar is somewhat lighter, fwtw.

Best T-Style Value
Out of the box, just change the strings, minor setup on low E string saddle height. No sharp frets, no scratchy pots and tuners hold pitch.

Top loader bridge and heavy
I was surprised by the fact that this one came with a top loader bridge and not string through which is shown for the natural finish. Also be aware that these can be quite heavy. Mine is 11 lbs. Probably would not have bought it if I had played it first. But for the price it's OK.

So nice I bought it twice
I purchased the blonde Retro DLX plus a couple of months ago when it was on sale for $140. I wanted a maple neck / maple fret board and was willing to not get the string through body. Most people say this but I could not believe how great this guitar felt right out of the box. I had gotten a black Indio Boardwalk guitar about a month earlier that also exceeded my expectations but this Retro was at anther level. The maple neck / fretboard was better than expected. It plays great, sounds great and stays in tune pretty well. When it went on sale again for $130 I bought another one as a Christmas present. The second one was also perfect out of the box. The SoCal luthier has been on point on the guitars I have received from Monoprice. I have also purchased a couple of the stage right 5 watt tube amps that I love, the 1x12 cabinet, a bunch of cables and all the pedals. I can not say enough about how impressed I am with the quality of all products I have received.

Great guitar, but HEAVY!
Very heavy guitar at 10 pounds! Didn't realize ash was so dense! Arrived with some cosmetic issues but nothing to cry about for the price.
But it plays well after a bit of a set up, sounds fantastic and has sustain for days! Neck is a fuller profile but fits my hand nicely.
I gave this 4 stars really only because of the weight factor. At nearly 2 pounds heavier than my Les Paul I wouldn't want to gig with it!

Perfect except for minor cosmetic flaw where the body meets the neck.
Guitar arrived in great shape. It was not in tune but that?s to be expected. Once in tune it plays like a dream. Fretwork is excellent, action is perfect for me and the strings are adequate. I like the sound of the pickups and the brass saddles are a nice touch. Took one star off due to chip paint on upper left side where the body meets the neck. I will say this is by far the heaviest guitar I own; it makes my Les Paul feel light weight.
