BEST ANSWER:This opens up to 12" x 8", and can stand on the included base (6" off tabletop) or on a standard microphone floor stand. Perfect size and placement for podcasts, voice isolation or just for karaoke fun! Excellent product, and inexpensive to boot.

It works quite well, and effectively blocks the sound of my desktop running. It is a little top-heavy though. The feet must be arranged so that one foot always faces forward. It would be great if the base was a little larger.
Handy unit to have around. Solid construction and attaches easily to any mic stand (or use the included desk stand) and provides decent isolation from the back.
I've had a recording studio for years. My son has a studio in his bedroom so I got one of these for him. I liked it so much I got for my studio. It works great. You can really hear the difference.
Works great and really makes a noticeable difference! I mounted mine on a boom mic stand to record vocals. Its smallest size and lighter weight makes it ideal for this. I use it in a room that is pretty "live" but everything sounds great on the recordings!
Just received this mini mic shield and installed it on my boom mic stand. Once I figured out that the shock mount goes on BEFORE the shield bracket, everything went together perfectly. I really like the compact size - not sure if it will make a huge diff in my recordings but it looks damn good! Using this with a Dr. Pro boom stand and AT 2020 mic + shock mount. Very sturdy and comparable to the SE mic shield which costs 2x more. Very happy customer!
PROS: Compact Lightweight Easy Installation Seems Durable Fast shipping
CONS: Packaging could have been better...but that's a minor complaint. No real "cons" yet.
This product did not meet my expectations. First, the three-section shield would not open all the way. I had to use a screwdriver to loosen one of the screws so it would open completely. The thumb screw doesn't do a good job of securing the shield to the L-bracket. If you screw it on tight enough to be stable, it is difficult to loosen and adjust. I attached a suspension shock mount, a side-address condenser mic, and a pop screen. This made the setup feel front-heavy and less stable. I wouldn't call this a bad product, I just feel disappointed with it. The good news is it's small enough I can throw it in the corner of a closet.
PROS: Low cost. Compact. Made of metal.
CONS: Doesn't feel sturdy. Can be a bit unstable when loaded.
This Micro Isolation Barrier comes in very handy on my music projects. I like to use it on guitar and bass cabinets. when a large diaphragm mic is being used. I bring them out on live performance captures.
I noticed that some of the nuts were rusted but I cleaned them up with some WD-40.
IMHO, it's a tad pricey, especial when I had to address some rust issues, but in the end it's a very effective device.
PROS: Small and compact. Very handy. Works well in most situations
CONS: Some parts were rusted, so it makes this item a bit pricey in my book.
