Can Shure super-55 be used on this stand? Looks like it may not.

BEST ANSWER: I do not recommend this stand. Our Memphis Blue is very similar to the 55 and it does not work. It is not a matter of threads. These mics XLT connector is right next to the stand mount so it is difficult to get the cable on after attaching to the stand. I have had the best lok using our boom atand with the boom arm going nearly straight up.

There should be no problem with screwing the Shure Super55 onto the Monoprice stand. If I remember correctly the stand comes with an adapter that fits a regular microphone holder that converts the thinner European thread standard to the American standard size. Even if not, you can buy the converting piece online for anywhere from $1 and up. Most standard microphone holders come with a metal or plastic converter anyway. I’ll check when I get home as to whether the Monoprice one handed adjustable mike stand comes with the converting piece or not.

The top of the stand is a standard thread which fits all standard microphones and clips which the Shure should fit just fine. We use a mic clip on the top or an added boom attachment which all have standard threads.

Easy Up and Down.
Great for the price but doesn't work well with some microphones that are hard to handle. The stand itself makes a bit of noise right where a standard stand tightens up. Works well with an SM58 but not at all with the chrome clunkers of old as there's stage noise.

Great stand!
Exactly what I was looking for! Instead of it being used for Mike I?m using it to hold a WebCam and ring light. It is great because I can push it out of the way when I don?t need it, and pull it right back up when I do.

Monoprice Mic Stand is the Jam
It is simple straightforward and sturdy. I give this mic stand the Triple S rating!!! Thanks Monoprice, you're solid! Oh now there are four "S' categories. Wow, you guys are knocking it out of the park. ;)

As expected
I received the stand in good time. It was simple to put together. Didn't realize it had a squeeze handle height adjustment. A great plus. It does what it should.

Great stand for the price
I've been seeing some bad reviews about this mic stand, but so far it's great. The adjuster grip works well, and the stand is pretty sturdy. This is just the first impressions though, we'll see how it does over time. I saw something about the threading not being usable, but it's actually a screw-off piece that's meant to fit the Blue Yeti. After unscrewing this piece, it fit my mic perfectly. A bit hard to adjust the mic to the right position but once I did it held pretty nicely. Currently using the AT3030 (older mic but still very nice) with the shock mount that came with it. The stand also comes with a pop-off piece attached to it made to hold the XLR cable in place just in case the microphone were to fall, but I don't think that'll happen because this stand is so nicely built. I would include pictures but that's a bit too much work :). I'd rather just write a paragraph or two lol.

Great Bargain and Reliability. Other brands too expensive and poor quality
Great price and works well. I have 3 and Ive gotten more and given them to other performers I work with as gifts. Other well known brands of clutch mic stands are clunky and break. To date, Ive had no problems with this Monoprice stand, not anything else Ive gotten from Monoprice.

Not up to monoprice's usual high standards
Great price ( the high shipping costs make it not such a great price) but it doesn't hold it's place, you can push it up or pull it down while it's locked. It's a little hard to do but my other brands of one hand mic stands are much more solid in their moving parts.

Shoddy stand
I've been using this for about 3 months. At first it felt fine, although I don't like that the "grip" is kept at the top of the mic extension which means it's always right below the microphone and obscuring the singer's face since it's kind of bulky. The real issue is that after a few months of use the connection between the base and the pole have completely come undone. It's a screw connection that is threaded, but the threading is stripped, just from normal use. It was never even taken apart for transport. Just used normally in a performance environment. After looking closer the threading is very thin and narrow which I imagine is the source of the issue. Now that it's stripped, it's essentially useless because I can't move it around at all. Also, doesn't seem like there's a warranty. Bummer.
