Does this stand come with any threaded pins to mount lights through the holes of the t-bar?
New User U
on Jul 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does. It includes a set of bolts for the thru-holes, they’re packed in the plastic sleeves with the T bars.
Oh, the stands appear to be very well built BTW. At least for as much as you could expect from aluminum & plastic. Haven’t deployed them at a gig yet, but they look like they’ll hold up well. Overall I’d say a better value than the ADJ or Chauvet, which are more than double the price.

Can this be used as a speaker stand? As in, PA speakers. And obviously without then T bar.
New User U
on Mar 6, 2019
I don't see why not. They are actually more heavy-duty than the speaker stands that hold up my two Behringer "Eurolive" powered PA speakers, and they reach a LOT higher, in case you need a long throw. Naturally, you need that top bar to fit whatever speaker you are using, but other than that, these are great stands that I currently have four light units mounted on each. And you simply cannot beat the price here. But don't be fooled by the reasonable price, these are the real deal.

I don’t see why it couldn’t. Should be able to reconfigure some of the poles to use for PA monitors assuming the diameter works. I have 4 of these stands. 2 for lights and 2 I setup as a frame for a banner. They are pretty versatile and should be able to handle the weight of a speaker no problem.

How do you set up the lights?
A shopper
on Oct 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The easiest way is to get a few of these clamps, attach the lights to the clamps, and put the clamps over the top bar. Tighten everything, run the power cable(s) down the pole, use wire ties to keep the cords low-profile. The other option (cheaper but more time-consuming) is the included evenly-spaced bolts--you can secure the lights directly with them, but they're more annoying to take off and on (if you need to do so often, like a mobile DJ application).

You need to use a clamp that works with your lights. One example:

There are holes in the truss and t-bars to run bolts. Bolt through the yoke into the truss with wing nuts and washers to make it easy. I don’t remember if bolts and wing nuts came with it or if I bought them myself. It’s been a while. 😉👍

BEST ANSWER: Keep in mind I’m a sound engineer, not the other kind of engineer, but I can tell you this... it seems to be made out of a really hard plastic, or may be its ‘aluminum steel’ like other similar products, either way it’s good quality and the product works.
I picked this stand for the height it can achieve for the price & I wasn’t disappointed.
The only one issue was the getting the extension piece to tighten, but that was easily fixed with exactly one layer of gaffers tape.

BEST ANSWER: Since the fixture is only 17.5 lbs it should not be a problem unless you want to hang more than a total of 77 lbs. So keep it to a max of 4 fixtures. Remember, your power and DMX cables also count for the weight you are loading on the stand. Make sure you properly weight the tripod base for stability. You will need to get a proper clamp or just bolt the leek to the cross bar.

Actually, it's pretty long. Off the top of my head, I'm guessing approximately 4-1/2 - 5 feet long. What the photo doesn't illustrate is that in addition to the removable "T" bar, there is a long vertical extension piece (maybe 3 -4 feet long that fits into the top of the stand as well. (Sorry if my measurements may be a little off as I don't have the stand at my disposal to measure it.) Overall, it's a very good lighting stand with nice height range. As good as others that cost twice a much.. I recommend this item.

This light stand consists of a 10 to 12 foot stand the resembles a speaker stand. Then there is the cross bar which is the same diameter as a speaker mount you would use on a single 18 inch subwoofer to hold the 12 2 way top. This cross bar has four holds in it to mount lights.
This stands are huge and I use them when I need to set up wash lighting over a large area.
Hope this helps,
TJ

Is it sturdy enough for moving head lights?

BEST ANSWER: As long as they’re not too big. I’m using mine to hold 4 of the small 7x10w RGBW Chinese moving wash lights. I wouldn’t put anything like a MAC500 on them obviously. But small, lightweight movers & scanners are lfine.

Solid Light Stand
Solid stand, gets the job done. Recommend getting sand bags. The stands stable but when fully extended, it is much taller than I expected so it feels better to have sandbags on the base.

Nice stand
Nice stand. Shipping almost doubles the price. The tube that goes inbetween the legs and the T bar does not nest within, so there are in reality 3 pieces to carry in. Seems well built.

Nice stands
Teses seem to be really well made, especially for the price. I'll be trying them out this weekend.

Beefy and sturdy. Highly recommended.
This lighting stand has exceeded my expectations. It?s much beefier and sturdier than I imagined it would be. Although I?m only using it for lightweight led lights, I?m sure it would have no problem with heavier par lights or speakers. Very well designed and highly recommended.

I?m unaware of how to make it 3 feet tall
Maybe I am missing how to do it, but I can?t make it 3? tall. 5? is the shortest. Otherwise, it meets all my requirements.

Get the good stuff from Monoprice!!!!!!!
As always never disappointed with any product that monoprice sells. These stands are beasts! Only thing I might suggest is that the top mount bar would be square instead of round but no problem with it. As per the usual, awesome service and great price and product!
