These 3-Pin Male DMX Connector make a good substitute when you don't have an XLR connector on hand and you need a patch lead in a hurry, just make sure to use the right cable.

I love these connectors. They're affordable, sleek, and easy to solder. I used these for microphone cables and they work great. I don't know why they label them as DMX, because the only difference should be the ohms of the cable itself. These are much better than the crazy, weird, big xlr ends monoprice sells as microphone ends.

The look, feel and work well. Buy these and you will be more attractive to the opposite sex.

I purchased several of these to make DMX cables with Monoprice DMX Bulk Cable. I usually use more expensive, industry-standard connectors that cost about twice as much as these, but I figured I'd give them a try. These connectors get the job done just fine. I used them for a permanent installation project and had no issues. I would probably not trust these connectors in a high-impact/heavy stage use setting, but for low-impact situations I would say they are a good value.
