I ordered a lighting curtain made in Hong Kong and it has what seems to be a mini 5 pin DMX cable. I was just wondering if this product will fit it?

This is a standard size 5-pin XLR adapter, so I don't think it will fit a "mini" connector. Perhaps the curtain you bought is supposed to plug in to a controller box with that mini connector and then you can run DMX to the controller box.

I was unable to use the adapter. I miss counted the pins I had on my board. The board was a 4 pin. So I just kept it encase I should need it in another application.

I would say no- this is a standard size adapter. It converts from standard size 3 pin to standard size 5 pin.

This is a standard sized 5-pin XLR. It will not fit a mini 5-pin connector.

I spent 3 hours trying to make a light project work !! Changed the adapter and problem solved!! So don?t assume they are all good!! To be fair this is the first time I have had a problem with a mono price product!!

sticks way out.

Not a fault of the workmanship, but having a connector this long sticking out of your light board is dangerous, there's a lot of leverage there. A flexible, short cable that is 5 pin to 3 pin would be much safer for the equipment.

Works for 5pin to 3pin. That's all it can really do, right? Work, or cause errors? No errors or backtalk when I switch from my pro-lighting to the DJ stuff.

Nice addition to my kit.

I was surprised at how much slop was in the fit of the XLR connection, However that doesn't impact operation one bit. They do exactly what I need and the price is right!
