I just ordered a second 100' piece of this cable having previously ordered 100' in December last year. That cable was great, but when I cut this cable into thirds and stripped back the wire to put on a connector, I discovered that the conductors are aluminum instead of copper. Also, there is no labeling on the jacket of the cable that I could find.. I requested a refund and Monoprice sent me an RMA even though I told them that I had cut the wire into thirds. Hopefully this is a problem with their supplier that they can sort out because I do like the cable that I got in December so my 1 star rating applies to what I received this week.

It's long. 100". Casing is mediums. Ends have screw terminals. Very easy to replace.

Probably going to cut them. Buy more ends and then have many shorter cables

The wire appears to be actual 12 gauge copper wire.
Cable is flexible and the ends are attached with screws. SO, you can disconnect them and put a different end on the cable!
I changed one end to a 1/4" TRS plug.

Very flexible and worked fine... I cut it in half and soldered 1/4" plugs for my amp connection end as I only needed a 50-ft length for each amp-to-speaker connection.

I ordered these on Thursday morning needing them by Friday afternoon for a gig on Saturday morning....they arrived on-time and worked perfectly!!!

Good product. Sounds great. The product has well made NL4 connectors and good shielding on the cable

I have several of this kind of cable from Monoprice, at different lengths...25' , 50' and 100'....they all have the super quality 12AWG wiring w/ great shielding but poor quality connectors. I had 2 of them break upon the first couple of uses. I quickly remedied that by purchasing the Neutrik NL4FX connectors. You can buy them from Fullcompass.com or get them off eBay for $4/connector.

With that combination, you can't beat the quality of the cable for the price,even after you replace the connectors.

PROS: Very nice shielding, thick sturdy cable for use on the road, wire conductors have been "tinned" for re-wiring purposes

CONS: Poor quality connectors......they are plastic and will break.

I'm pragmatic when it comes to cabling I don't care what Monster tries to tell you, cabling doesn't need to cost a million dollars or have gold plated connectors to make things sound "warm" and "musical." They conduct electricity for god's sake.

These cables get the job done for the right price, and it is surprisingly difficult to find suitable 12 ga wire for PA systems online. I split the 100's into a 75' and 25' cord using Neutrik NL2s on the freshly cut ends. The stock connectors seem just okay, I don't know if they'll resist impact, abrasion, or normal wear and tear as well as the genuine article, but they seem like they'll hold up well enough. Make sure the collar is screwed tight all the way up to the chuck/connector so they don't unscrew. Pretty much all of mine arrived loose - not a big deal, but worth mentioning. Only time will tell if they hold up, but they don't seem at risk of breaking right off the bat.

The wire itself is pretty robust, it's double insulated and molded ALL the way around the inside wires (which are themselves individually insulated of course), filling the gaps so there is no wiggle or twist in the wires.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these cables to anyone, as long as they keep a few spare NL2/NL4 plugs around!

PROS: Love the quality of the cable & connectors. The price was by far the best.

I can also say that I had had one intermittent connection. It was connecting to a coupler for extension reasons. The coupler was Neutrik brand from FullCompass. After flipping the coupler around, I no longer had an issue despite being coupled to another monoprice speakon cable. So I would say there may be a slight connector issue but for the most part they work fine.
