Can this be used for a stereo to dual mono cable?

BEST ANSWER: This cable can split a stereo signal into left and right channels. It is not a summing cable. You will only get one of the stereo channels on the TS connectors. The red one is the tip of the TRS and the black one is the ring on the TRS.

Yes, if by that you mean separating the stereo output signal into separate feeds for L and R channels. The left channel will appear at the "SEND" plug, and the right channel at "RETURN".

I used these for a send and return effects loop ( guitar amp) that required a balanced input. You are looking for something similar but these are 1/4 inch phone plugs and I believe you need 3.5mm stereo to 3.5mm mono plugs hope that helps.

I think what you'd need to make sure of is that the stereo source's balance is mono'd out. Otherwise, you'd be sending one right and one left instead of the full signal.

This cable will split a stereo output, to a separate Left and Right. So if that is what you mean, then yes.

Accurate Description
Stereo monitors mixes are the bees knees. So being able to send 2-channel out (aka left and right) to a single TRS connector is what the doctor ordered between my mixer and headphone amplifier. So far so good.
