When connecting a late 2008 MacBook Pro to a Dell 3008WFP monitor using this cable, neither the 9400M nor the 9600M GT GPUs can drive the monitor at 2560x1600 without display corruption and the display going blank or to sleep at seemingly random times. Lower resolutions work fine.

Replacing this cable with a short Mini-DisplayPort male to DisplayPort female adapter cable and the 6 foot DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor solved the problems at 2560x1600.

got the wire in aug. worked fine until all of a sudden Displayport error. Tried two different computers to the one moniter, neither worked. Ordered the same wire from newegg, used it worked, failed within 2 months.

After purchasing asus ve248q monitors and having them arrive with no display port cables, I came to monoprice to purchase some extra long ones to complete my eyefinity setup. Two of these worked perfectly for my 1080p monitors. I don't see any flicker and they work perfectly to complete my eyefinity setup. So long as you're using a monitor with a displayport on it, these WILL work for eyefinity!

This cable works great with my mid-year 2010 Mac Pro and my NEC MultiSync PA271W and is very reasonably priced. MonoPrice shipped it quickly and I've not had a single problem with this cable.

If you are planning to use these with a Mac or with AMD's video cards, keep looking.

They will *not* properly work with Dell U2410 monitors. The output is OK, except that due to incompatibility the monitor cannot be powered off and then on again while power or DisplayPort is connected: you have to unplug the power & DisplayPort cables, wait about a minute, re-connect power, turn-on the monitor, and then re-connect the DisplayPort cable. What a PITA... There are several threads about this issue on the Dell Forums.

The work-around is to use standard (full size) DP-to-DP cables, with a good DP-miniDP adapter at one end. Monoprice's adapter is OK, except that their design leads to a LOT of stress on a very small miniDP connector... :-/ Look for an 'Accel' brand adapter with a flexible cable between the miniDP & DP ports. Currently these are about $12 online, and work great.

CONS: Unfortunately, these cables are not fully compatible with the DisplayPort spec. As a result they cause compatibility issues with some Dell monitors. :-(

This is a great cable - it is long enough so your machine can sit a decent way away from your monitor but still has great quality video. And you can't beat the price!

This cable works perfectly as described. I use it to connect my MacBook Pro to my Dell Ultrasharp monitor. I actually find this cable better than the miniDP to DVI cable from Apple I had been using before. With that, sometimes the monitor would recognize a signal coming in but just displays noise. I would have to manually cycle through the inputs before it correctly displays the feed from the MacBook Pro. Since I've switched over to this miniDP to DP cable, I haven't had that issue. The only reason I give it a 9 instead of a 10 is that the gold plated parts doesn't seem as shiny/clean as other gold plated cables I've seen. Yes that's just me being very nitpicky and probably doesn't effect the quality at all.

PROS: This cable works on 4k at 60hz folks! It doesn't get any better than this.

I needed two cables for two different iMacs. We needed to drive two external displays at maximum resolution. We have been using the cables for more than a week now with no problems. Both customers are very happy.

Connects a 13" MacBook Pro to a 27" monitor to give 2560x1440 resolution without any problem.

This is a fine product. I was a little worried that it wouldn't carry the sound too but it does! I bought this about three weeks ago and I recommend it.

I use this with a MacMini early 2009 (NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared w/4GB main memory) to an HP ZR24w.

PROS: Long, thin, flexible, affordable, no need for adapter, small plug does not obstruct adjacent ports.

CONS: 1) Not sure whether fault is cable or MacMini: After every reboot, I eventually have to unplug/replug cable, or I get intermittent video cutout (black screen for 3-5 seconds, video noise flashes). Once I perform the replugging, it's fine until the next boot...I often don't reboot for several weeks.

White...black would be nice.

Video cables have unfortunately turned from a commodity item to something you have to research carefully. This one works as it should.

I accidentally ordered the wrong XLR plug ( neeed mini) for my custom headphone cable, I stated it was for an AKG Q701 headphone. They called me to let me know that I picked a full size XLR and it does not fit the Q701. I was so surprised and pleased they called me to confirm if my order was in error. I never would have expected this level of service from any company. Now I do, this basically tells me the company has people who are knowledgeable and care. Been shopping here for a while and will continue to shop as long as they are in business.

this cable worked fine at 1080p to connect a mini display port dell xps 15 laptop to a U2311H monitor with display port. picture quality was fine.

the reason i gave it less than full ratings is that, before i ordered this cable,tech support from monoprice told me it only works from a displayport lapyop to a minidisplayport monitor because it had only one stream direction. however, the other reviews clearly showed it worked for a minidisplay port laptop to dispayport monitor and so i took a chance and bought it.
it ended up working fine. had i not taken the chance or listened to multipe tech support agents wrong claimings, i would have spent more money on an adapter and cable as well instead of a simple cable.

I bought 3 of these cables and hooked them up to a quad head video card. One of my monitors kept flickering on and off. After switching things around, determined that one of the cables was faulty. The other two seem fine though.

Heed the warning in the description about it only being good for DisplayPort 1.1. Despite the assurances on the DisplayPort website about all cables being equal, I had a lot of problems with DisplayPort link errors when connecting a Radeon 6950 with a Dell U2713HM. This cable is probably fine if you are not running very high resolutions (1080p is probably ok). Ended up replacing this as it was unusable for me.
