I received the mic from Monoprice with a slip-on foam windscreen, a “T” shaped adapter which splits the Jack on the phone into headphone and mic, and a velvety drawstring bag to keep it in.

took a look at the pictures on the Staples web site....
and then took a look at the product specifications...
The "shock mount" and such are not listed in this spec's...
So I would suspect that these items are not included in the package from Staples...
I would ask before you purchase...
These microphones are not really designed to be used with a shock mount and it probably would not change your results much if at all. if you used one..
Good luck

This isn't the type mic that you can use a shock mount with. The nature of this mic would have it plugged directly into a device like your phone. As far as windscreen, you could put a fuzzy dot cover on the end.

Would this work with a tape recorder that has a mic input?
Wade B
on Apr 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I believe this mini microphone would work with a portable tape recorder input. I would have to try it out and see for myself. I would have to get a portable tape player that has a microphone input, then I have to see if it would work. I might have to have a monoprice tape recorder to see if would work. With this monoprice mini microphone it might not work with another company brand name tape recorder that has a microphone input in it but I would have to try it out and test it. With some electronic equipment you have to have things made by the same company wich are compatible, then it would work and perform correctly. Like for example , you would have to have a monoprice mini microphone and then a monoprice tape recorder. But there are times that you can have for example a monoprice mini microphone and then have a Sony portable tape player with a microphone input then it would work out correctly. Sometimes it depends on the company brand name.

It should, but unless the tape recorder has no builtin mic you probably don't need this. Ii bought one for my phone and i can't tell the difference between when i record with this mic or when i record with my phone's builtin mic.
As always, your mileage may vary, and if you have a horrible mic or no mic at all this will obviously be a vast improvement.

Sort answer it should.
since I am not familiar specifically with the LG line of phones am not able to give you specifics.
Have 2 of these microphones and they work absolutely wonderful with my Samsung S5.
There is a noticeable improvement in the audio quality.

it actually overrides the built in mic, so that when this little unit is plugged in, the internal phone microphone is no longer active until you unplug it again.

It has stereo connections, so there is a right and left audio, however, there is a single mic element, so right and left are the same. I wish I could include some video I took on a backpacking trip recently. It’s a nice little mic, and hey, it’s only twelve bucks.

Short answer... no, it isn't
Even if it was or is there would not be enough space between the elements to give a very good stweek image. (Distance in feet not in mm)
Hope this helps

I could not hear any difference between this microphone and the built in mic on my voice recorder. I wish that i could of more help but i'd say purchase the mic and test it out. Would this work plugged straight into a Raspberry Pi?
A shopper
on Mar 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Probably not. As far as I can tell, the RPi may have a line level input, and this has a microphone level output, much lower, and it is on the 4th connection of the 3.5mm plug, which works for most smartphones. It also need a few volts of bias to work properly.

Better Than Your Phones Mic
The mic is small/easy to carry, better than you phones mic - but it is mono and requires an adapter for newer iPhones.

Great device at a great price!
Shipped fast and has performed as expected. The adapter is very helpful to allow use during live broadcasts. I give it 4 stars only because I still have to turn my volume up on my device to hear myself well enough. However my peers tell me they can hear me just fine.

Get one! It’s 12 bucks!
This microphone takes nice audio and is small enough to take places where weight is an issue, like a backpacking trip. It performed well during a recent trip to a mouse themed park in central Florida. Audio was good except for fast rides, where the windscreen couldn’t overcome the very high, directly impinging wind. This wasn’t the fault of the windscreen, IMHO. Bottom line, it’s 12 bucks and for what it is, it’s incredible. Get one and put it in your backpack, car, or carry it in your pocket with your pocketknife.
