Curious about the intended use of the variable 6-12v taps. What would these be used for that switched specific voltages (9v, 12v) doesn't cover? 18v tap is the missing feature IMHO.

BEST ANSWER: The 6-12 taps are to simulate a dying battery mainly for fuzz pedals, which get a certain tone at less than 12 v. You can get cable to combine 2 9V taps for 18v. The layout and size of this is identical to my Vood** Labs Pedal Power.

I agree that an 18V option would have been great. The variable taps are for analog drive pedals that sound different when adjusting voltage. Some players like the sound of starved pedals.

Does it have mounting rails for a pedalboard?

BEST ANSWER: If it does not have mounting rails, you could use zip tires or velcro. Zip ties are easiest.

BEST ANSWER: Can’t say I’ve checked the internal wiring or circuits, but I’m not experiencing any noise as I have in the past with daisy chained power supplies

I surprised by the price, usually monoprice has the best prices around. I can get many different ones on Amazon for $20-$40, even with the isolation. Why is this so much more expensive?
New User U

BEST ANSWER: The cheap ones on Amazon are not entirely isolated. They usually lack rocker switches. They also use weird power connectors and adapters. The Monoprice has a rocker switch and uses the standard three-prong input, which is easier to replace than finicky adapters.

Does this use a toroidal transformer or switch mode to supply the isolated power to the outlets?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Trent. I took the cover off (again. I forgot to take pix the first time when I first received it for myself). It is a toroidal transformer:

Completely silent
I made a custom pedal board and decided to try this because of it's price point and features. I was super happy when i hooked everything up (5 total Pedals) and everything was operating perfectly and silent. I used on stage today around many Leds and a large Led wall. The power supply was silent even when 2 distortion pedals was engaged. I didn't take the cover up but I believe this power supply has true isolated grounds due to it's silent operation in a very noisy environment.

Nice quiet linear pedal power supply. Tremendous Value!
Nice quiet LINEAR pedal power supply for standard pedals with 2 ports at 9-12V, 2 ports with adjustable 6-12V, 2 ports at combined limit of 300mA. Note this PS will NOT support high current pedals. Good build quality. Tremendous Value!

OK, I guess
Got it for $40. Would not pay 99--no way. Seems to work OK; have tried out about 3 basic pedals with it. Just using one right now. Power cord seems to get loose in its socket easily (the one in the unit, not in the wall). Caution advised. Have not had it very long, so don't know about durability.

Solid power supply but with issues
Solid power supply. I tested it with notoriously noisy pedals and it was quieter than a standard wall wart with daisy chain. Oddly, the cables provided sometimes did not work in certain pedals. They fit but did not provide power. At first I thought this was just an isolated issue, unfortunately it was not. I purchased two of these power supplies. Various cables out of both supplies did not work in very standard pedals. When I changed cables to something not monoprice it was fine. Not a big deal for me, but someone else may only have this supply. It is also nice the supply has an on/off switch. Considering Price, features and problems I would probably give it a 3.5 star review but that's not possible. Overall a good power supply for the $$.
Nice box. Solid supply

At first I was impressed ...
Unpacking this unit, I was very pleasantly surprised by its super sturdy build quality. The fact that it uses a solid three prong power cable instead of a flimsy wall wart was immediately a plus. However, I have to say that the choices that were made here in terms of outputs are weird to me. What most people need are rock solid 9V outputs, as many as possible, and maybe one 18V one. Instead, valuable real estate is wasted here on two 6-12V outputs. I understand that some people like the option of choking (under-feeding) fuzz and distortion pedals to mimic a dying battery. But that's such a niche use! Worse: The device I mostly got this for is not running with this brick. It's a UA "Dream" pedal. I admit that I didn't do my research in time, otherwise, I would have known that it requires a minimum of 400mA. But it runs on a humble One Spot, so I was sure this solid power supply wouldn't cause any problems. Well, it does. Also, it's not very practical that all the connection cables are the same length, ca. 15". A range from maybe 10"-20" would have been more pedal board friendly.

Not for Use with Small Pedalboards
I have tried this with the small Monoprice aluminum pedal board. The power supply was too thick to fit underneath, despite moving the horizontal beams, installing with the longer bolts, and experimenting with larger rubber feet. So I will have to resort to a BOSS power supply I have for the BCB-60.
I do have expensive Ciocks power supplies that are super slim, but they are reserved for a large pedal board I am already using. The price for the Monoprice is still a great deal for less than $50. But the size and weight are reasons as to why the price is lower. I will probably use the Monoprice power with a BOSS BCB-60 pedal board and swap the BOSS power supply to use with the small Monoprice board.
