How difficult would it be for you to construct a pair of these so the monitor shelf is parallel to the clamp and extension bar instead of perpendicular? I need a product like this to attach to the top of an entertainment center. Thanks.

Is that the weight capacity total? Or is each individual stand rated to 22lbs?

BEST ANSWER: I can't tell you for sure, but I have 15lb speakers on each mount and they support the weight just fine.

No Issues
These are so much better than what I expected. Like everything else Monoprice / Stage Right I've received. Not sure what other reviewers are having with stability. I haven't used them for anything over the stated weight limit specs. Idk. Maybe that's where their problems lie. My powered JBLs are 10.43 lbs. and they don't move at all.
I ordered a 2nd set for use as a synth riser on the back of a desk.
The only thing I wish was different would be the ability to make them go a couple of inches lower, but then they wouldn't be able to extend as high so, Catch-22, lol.

Almost There
Although they are well constructed for lighter speakers, they are wobbly when fully extended with a Yamaha HS5 monitor on top of them. It is a shame, since they extend the best height to sit over my 32" computer monitors (instead of "behind" them).

Good for small, light speakers.
Like others have said, it?s a bit wobbly. I knew that when I ordered it. I wouldn?t trust them with anything heavier than the passive Auratone 5C on them. I needed the height to be above my video monitors, so these were the perfect choice for me. I?m happy with my purchase.

Questionable Build Quality
I guess I got what I paid for. Flimsy build quality. I wasn't going to risk placing heavier 2K studio monitors that could hit the floor.on the stands
Ended up giving them away
Having said that, I did purchase Stage Right by Monoprice Adjustable 27 - 45in Studio Monitor Speaker Stands w/ Antislip Pads & 130lbs Weight Capacity (pair)
Product # 625870
For only a few bux more, a much more stable product

delivered with 1cm paint chip
Only $40 so hard to complain, but they have a pretty large (1cm by 3mm) paint chip and they do sit on my desk. So I'd prefer they came undamaged...

Decent Stands For The Price
They are pretty heavy and well made. The handles to tighten them are plastic which I hope hold up but the rest is metal. My top plates came a little warped but I fixed them enough and one of the poles has deep scratches in one area from the parts hitting together. I faced that one towards the wall instead of dealing with returns.
