Bought this to hook a computer with a DVI port up to a monitor that only had a VGA port, could have bought an adapter but figured a single cable would look nicer. Later realized the monitor itself also had a DVI port and I could have just got a DVI cable. Oh well, this cable is working fine so no problems.
These were bought for my son. He's always needing something every time I place an order with Monoprice. If it's not a cable of some type with different plugs, it's an adapater, convert, or Keystone jack. It's always something! :)
Wasn't sure how good it would be at less than 4 bucks but the quality of the cable is excellent. Normally it wouldn't matter much but seeing as this is a VGA cable and with analog signal the quality of the cable matter a lot for picture quality. Very pleased.
I was experiencing horizontal lines waving up my screen while using an old VGA cable with a DVI adapter. I tried a lot of things to fix it, and ended up buying this cable, seems to have fixed the problem. Great cable. Highly recommend it.
PROS: Solved a screen flicker/wave problem I had using an old VGA cable with a DVI adapter.
Black color looks nice and sleek
Sturdy and durable cable(both a pro and a con)
CONS: Cable is thick and sturdy, which makes it difficult to bend if you need to bend it to plug it in.(not a huge con, just a very slight annoyance)
This cable made it where I do not need the silly SVGA - DVI adaptor and even eliminated the interference that I was getting from time to time. I actually paid more for the old adaptor at a local PC store than I did on the cable!
PROS: Good quality shielding, gold plated connectors and great price.
I bought this to connect a computer to a monitor with only VGA inputs ( Computer video card had DVI connectors only). I was looking for a solution that didn't require an adapter. the quality of this cable is outstanding. Image quality is outstanding too.
PROS: well built, image quality is pretty good, and price.
Replaced on old VGA-VGA cable (with DVI adapter at graphics card) that had failed in a dual monitor (both at 1024x768 yeah, they're old) setup. New cable works flawlessly, and seems to provide a sharper image on the monitor, although I could be imagining that.
