This is the only item I received from my 2 item order. Per the invoice, it was the only one I was being billed for. However, a check of my card showed I was billed for both items. That said, the ties worked as well as expected.
I used a bunch of these to put up some light lattice and a fence screen, and they got brittle and started snapping and failing about six months later. I've had to replace most of them at least once.
Not up to Monoprice's usual standards, and NOT recommended.
I don't write many reviews at all, but I bought 5000 black 8" cable ties this summer. Have gone through about half of them lighting up christmas decorations and lights. It was not the most pleasant experience. Overall the cable ties do what they are supposed to do, but using these ties takes so much more effort than say the GB brand from the the big box store. I also expect several to fail either from the cold this year or the heat from storage for next Christmas.
1. 10% +/- the pull strip at the end broke of just as I pushed it through the head. Brittle 2. 10% +/- several cable ties broke before reaching the "cinch point. Brittle. 3 You can't pull on these too hard for fear of breaking the tie. 4. You can't really use these cable ties one handed. The pull is stout.
Would I but they again? I probably will since I am cheap, and they should be fine for short term use. Will I use them again for something I am building and need to trust that it will not break, probably not. As a side note, the 8" natural ties seem to do better than the black in my experience.
PROS: 1. cheap 2. cheap 3. cheap
CONS: 1. cheap 2. many of the ties do seem brittle and break before any real pressure is applied. 3. hard to use one handed
I buy these for our guys when they do cable jobs (Ethernet & coax) and these things work fine. They do feel a bit cheaper (not as thick) than what we were using. A couple out of a bag might break, but overall they've had no complaints about them and they cost a fraction of what we were paying for cable ties.
