BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The RCA and 3.5mm connectors will be gold plated but the internal wire conductors will be tinned copper.

Are those cables shielded?

BEST ANSWER: Each of the two cables is a coaxial cable, which is inherently shielded (center conductor surrounded by the ground / shield).

yes, I would say so, although the spec doesn't mention OAS. they are very high quality and I have had no problems with crosstalk, hum or anything else.

How far apart can the two RCA ends be split apart from each other? (How far apart can the left and right speakers be?) Wondering about the 6ft and 10ft cable.

BEST ANSWER: I believe you can split the cable all the way down to the single 3.5mm cable end. If you look at the main picture with the cable coiled, at the top of the pic you can see a black sleeve that goes around the whole cable (I believe this is heat-shrink tubing), if you remove that small piece, you can just pull the red and white ends apart and split the cable down its length.
