Are the 24ga wires used for power?

BEST ANSWER: The gauge is just the size of the wires used. 24awg will have less resistance than a 28awg wire and be lass prone to signal error. It won't power your tv, if that's what your asking

Does this 2.0 USB Assembly have a braid or foil shield in the cable?

BEST ANSWER: It's too thin to have shielding; it feels like a regular thin USB cable. It works good for what I needed it for (Resetting some commercial equipment using a special software tool). Not sure about the data-rate; probably slower than spec.

High Quality Cables
I needed to order 100 pieces of this cable after my original supplier delivered faulty cables. Monoprice had the parts I need in stock. Once they arrived, I was impressed with the overall feel and quality of the cable. The contact resistance was much better then my original supplier so from now on Monoprice will be the supplier of choice.
