Works great. Got this to mirror an old iMac with a broken LCD display, to an old VGA monitor, but I'm sure I'll be "borrowing" it to extend the screen on my main machine at times...

This is the real mini-DVI (to VGA) adapter, correctly named as such. There are items offered by other sellers that are incorrectly sold as mini-DVI, but are really mini-DisplayPort adapters.

This item plugs into my iMac Mid-2007 and let's me use my external monitor, which has a VGA port. It does *not* plug into my MacBook pro mid 2015.

Bravo, Monoprice, for being one of the few sellers who a) correctly names the item and b) provides a decent photo of the connector.

My Mini DisplayPort went bad so I ordered the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter and it works great. Got here fast too! I would order from them again.

This is for the older white imac. I need the smaller mini dv for the newer grey imac.

The cables look fine, but they are the wrong ones. The logo on the close-up made me believe these were the correct ones to connect our laptops to a projector/2nd monitor.
