Does this suppose PoE or do both the Tx and Rx require a 5V DC source?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, thank you for your inquiry. You would need the AC adapter for both TX and RX. HDMI, especially with high bandwidth for 4K/HDR and eARC audio, requires a very strong signal. Sending it over 50 meters of Cat5e/6 cable is a major technical challenge. I hope this helps.

Works beautifully!

I used the HDMI eARC Audio Extender to delivery audio from my Samsung TV to a stereo receiver in my network closet, letting me utilize an existing Cat6 run rather than figuring out a long HDMI cord.
