I have a vintage Shure 55SW ("Elvis/Memphis-style mic) which uses (I hope) this type of cable (pardon my ignorance). The end of the plug that connects to the microphone is a tapered male 3-pin cylinder with a ring that screws onto the outside of the microphone. The housing on this end also has a guide shaft to insure proper connectivity. The microphone has the female connection integrally encased and the outside of the housing has the screw threads exposed to accept the ring from the plug. This cable has 3-pins but no screw nut or guide shaft to tighten the connection. Will this work or will it fall out?

BEST ANSWER: No, this will not work. We do not carry the connector you need for your vintage Shure. That mic needs a cable with an AMPHENOL 91-MC3M. They are sold on other sites. I may look into it for the future but no plans for now.

I would suggest going to a music store and see if the mic will accept an XLR connection. If it does then the cable you are looking at will probably work.

As far as I know the Vintage Sure microphones have a different 3 prong layout. Kind of like a 220 power outlet compared to a regular outlet.

I purchased 15-ft (PID 4763), 25-ft (PID 4764), and 50-ft (PID4766) XLR Male to 1/4 inch TRS Male cables. The 25-ft and 50-ft cables have different sleeve printing than pictured here, with repeated double arrows --> --> before and after each set of text. Does that mean the cables are directional, and grounded on only one end, or something of the sort? I wanted to go 1/4 inch from mixer to XLR powered speaker, but the repeated arrows all point in the opposite direction??

Amazing for the price!

Using them for our Roland FA-08 keyboard. They allow us to plug it in directly to the mixer without a DI box.(The Roland has balanced audio out on the TRS)

Didn't expect them to be so heavy duty. They should last a lifetime or two.

Accurate Description

I'm using this cable to send signal to an on-body wired IEM from a headphone amp. I send stereo, I hear stereo, nothing sweeter than stereo monitor mixes. No excessive grammar needed here, cable does what is says.

Best Cables I've ever bought!!!!!! I will buy it again.

Cables excellent; I've bought at least 25 cables for my recording studio. I've used these cables on everything
Keyboards, studio speaker monitors, audio snake and my 24 track mixer board. I tell you, you can definitely tell by the crisp and clarity sounds from these cables.
