Works fine, but the cables are way too stiff and bulky, I couldn't connect it in a way that I felt comfortable with leaving plugged into my equipment. The connectors on the end are also too big, making it difficult to plug into jacks that are right next to each other without having the connectors pushing each other; this led to the cable being unable to stay properly plugged in over time. Last of all, the audio cables are longer than the video lines. This seems like it's well thought out, however there's a very noticeable difference between the two. Combined with the super stiff cables, plugging in audio means awkwardly bending the cable on each end to make it fit right. Ultimately, this was a wasted purchase, I wouldn't recommend it.
No appreciable signal loss - I am using these to connect to a switch that outputs 75 feet to an HD TV - Picture quality is very good. I basically had to separate the audio cables from the video which defeats the purpose and increases cable management. All cables need to be the same length. I would have rated a 9 or 10 otherwise.
PROS: Very good quality cables and connectors
CONS: The 2 audio cables are longer than the video cables. This made it very difficult to connect to components / video switches as the video cables are being pulled out from the connector. These should all be the same length.
This cable is exactly as described. The construction is clearly 'premium' and seems comparable to any name brand cable you might expect to pay a lot more for. The cables themselves are thick and sturdy. The connectors seem well-attached to the cables and provide a firm grip to my equipment. As is typical with monoprice, this cable is a really outstanding value, and I can't imagine paying so much more for a name brand ever again.
PROS: Durable, heavy-duty construction. Extremely tight plugs - I can't imagine this cable coming loose. Ever. I mean seriously, they're like mini vise-grips. My fingers are sore from connecting them (this is all a good thing)!
CONS: The audio cables are slightly longer than the video cables. I'm not sure if this was intentional - it seems so since the extra length is present on both ends. Since these cables are very heavy-duty and stiff, and this one in particular is very short, it tends to make my equipment move around from the uneven tension (I've got a very light-weight external usb tv tuner connected to my satellite box for my computer). Had I known it would be like this ahead of time, I might have bought the 3 ft. version. The cable works perfectly though, and I'm sure with a different setup it might not be noticeable.
I bought this cable to hook up my pre-amp to my 5-channel amp. Having all 5 cables on one convenient package is great. Unfortunately, it ended up being just a bit too short, so I ended up buying the 3ft version of this cable. If Monoprice made a 2 ft version that would have been perfect. The cable works great and looks good too.
Monoprice is a great company, but I did have one weird issue with them. They actually charged me twice for the same order. I was given a refund the next day, but just thought it was a bit weird to get charged twice.
