Can you guestimate how long a “standard” refrigerator frezzer could run with the largest battery you provide?

BEST ANSWER: I recommend you look at the PowerCache 1000, not the 600 for the bigger inverter and surge rating (Watts). I have a different brand 1000 Watt battery like this, and sample size two: I was able to run one fridge, but NOT able to run a second. = 50/50 chance it'll work with your "standard" home fridge. This unit has a higher surge rating than mine, so it's MORE likely to work. A standard home fridge uses about 1000 Watt*Hours every 24 hours, so a 1000 Watt*Hour battery pack should be able to run a fridge for up to 24 hours, depending on conditions (summer v winter, # of times opened). To be sure, you need a Watt-Hour meter such as a WattsUp

The short answer is that a 1000W battery will run a typical refrigerator-freezer for about 5 hours. The exact answer depends on age (new ones are more efficient) and wattage of the refrigerator (typical about 500W) as well as how often the door is opened, the room temperature, and other factors. Running the refrigerator intermittently might make the battery power last longer as the contents stay cool or frozen for some time after power is off.

It does not accommodate a 220 volt plug, only 110 volt AC or DC. Beyond that, remember that amps times volts equals watts. You have a unit which contains 600 Watts, which at 110 volts means there’s only about 5 amps. Thus, power hungry devices will not work or will be limited to a few minutes run time. This unit is designed for low-energy devices (like fans and modern TVs).

Can it be charged while providing power?
A shopper
on Nov 8, 2023
BEST ANSWER: The PowerCache 1000 has a Q&A saying yes, but I've not tested the 600 myself. Note that the AC charger is limited to 175W max, with comments saying that in practice it's more like 100-150W depending on the battery's state-of-charge; when the battery is 90-100% full, it must charge slower to prevent battery damage.

Is it for a car or home?is it for car or home or both
A shopper
on Nov 23, 2023
BEST ANSWER: It can be used in the car, a home, a cabin, a trailer, or any place you need a larger battery. Since it produces both DC and AC current, it can run small household appliances and electronics using household plugs as well as DC devices. It’s too small to run demanding appliances like heaters, but can run a TV, radio, laptop computer, or sump pump. It can run low-power devices designed for cooking in the car. It can recharge phones and USB electronics, but most cars can do that too. You need to figure out what you need to keep running in a power failure to see if this power station is sufficient.

Can you use a Boundary 200 solar panel to power it?
A shopper
on Mar 18, 2024
BEST ANSWER: A 200 Watt solar panel will work ONLY if it's 36 volts. There are a few such panels available (e.g., WEELIAO) and generally cost a bit more than 12 V panels: about $200-$250 unless on sale.

Bought to run my CPAP. I charged it fully, used one night, and it was still at 85%, so i didn't recharge. The second night the CPAP shut off at 4AM, still at 77%. Plugged into wall the CPAP works fine. but shuts off with the Powercache. I need it to be reliable, as I am in Ecuador and we have power outages. Will I need to recharge every day?
