Encapsulated transmission means - NO POLE going through the middle of your desk.

Both gearsets (left & right) are digitally controlled by the brain box <~ this is a far superior design. It's crazy how Monoprice can provide this elevated tech at this price. AMAZING.

2- caveats:
1. understand static load: HOW MUCH WEIGHT are you putting on your desk. BE VERY clear on the limits of any engineered system (here DESK + mechanical lift capabilities)
2. Lift Mechanism - because it's 100% digital - will be SLOW- because Monoprice emphasizes (rightly) safety, over speed.

^ if you're oK with those 2 caveats + newer technology and a worry-free design then JUMP ON IT. Great SETUP.

Assembly instruction could be more clear on installing the bracket holding the power supply (inside/outside the extention bar or inside/outside the frame)

Love my new desk, lifts and lowers very smoothly and quickly even with 3 monitors, speakers etc! Overall pretty simple to put together and it feels sturdy and stable at all available heights. It's very easy to save 3 height settings, and it even displays the current height when changing in case you want to dial it in over time and go back to a particular value later.

I have absolutely no complaints about this frame. It's very stable, operates smoothly, and the electric components all tuck away neatly. The 3 saved positions are a nice touch, too. With a single press, I move mine between seated, standing, and walking-desk positions.

Bought this for my son who does video editing and needs to be able to stand and sit over the course of a large project.

Built a table top from 3/4" baltic birch, adding a second thickness by putting a 2.5""frame" around the bottom side of the large piece.

Love the double motor for its greater lift capacity, allowing for more equipment on or under the table.

Runs up and down pretty smoothly.

Also added a set of white swivel casters with 110 lb load capacity each bought from giant online bookstore. Thread is M8.

This is my second such purchase from Monoprice. The first one was a heavier duty unit with two motors (Product # 36078) which I absolutely love ... bought it during my recovery from a serious accident that put me temporarily in a wheelchair... I was able to adjust the table to just the right height for my wheelchair ... monitor on the table, keyboard in my lap. Also could run it way up to the top setting to roll under in my wheelchair to do cable management and change out power cords on the power center I mounted on the underside of the table.

This new table would have worked just as well but I put a butcher block top on the first one that is substantially heavier than the one on the new one ... the new one doesn't have quite the lift capacity the first one has (220 vs. 265 lbs) and an 80lb top does take a cut of that capacity in a notable way when you are putting ALL your components on or under the table...

Great desk for great price. I put casters from amazon $20. - 3 Inch Swivel Caster Wheels Set of 4, Locking Casters Heavy Duty Total Capacity 330lbs, Metric M8-1.25 Threaded Stem PU Casters with Brake, Castors for Carpet Hardwood Floors Workbench Bed Frame.

I'm a software engineer and have been working full-time remote for a couple years now. I finally decided to upgrade my sad old sitting desk to an electric sit/stand desk and picked this desk frame for it. For the top I got a 4'x8' sheet of finished 3/4" plywood from Home Depot, cut it to the size I wanted and added about 8 coats of polyurethane (sorry monoprice, the shipping code on your desktops for this frame was crazy!). Pretty easy assembly and my custom top mounted easily with the included hardware. Very happy with it and the ability to sit and stand throughout the day with a simple push of a button. I've got a monoprice 3 monitor mount and under-desk PC mount on the desktop too.

Great price and quality would buy again if I needed to.

I have a bunch of height adjustable desks, and I've built most myself from kits like this. I definitely avoid the "single motor" versions; this is a dual motor, and comes with everything you need (except the desk top). So if you want a wooden topped desk of a particular size, then buy this, and find a local wood-worker to make you a custom top. (Or make it yourself, if you're handy that way. But it's a lot more work than it looks.)

This went together smooth as silk. It's very well made and operates quietly and smoothly. I'm VERY impressed.
