Would it be ok to use a desktop that is 74 inches wide? It says the maximum is 70.9 inches but I'm not sure if that's a strict limit?
A shopper
on Aug 14, 2022
BEST ANSWER: I would think so, provided you don't exceed the weight limit and you're comfortable with a little overhang on the sides. The maximum width is determined by how wide the frame can go, but I don't think there is any harm if you end up with an extra 2" of desk on either side of the frame.

Nothing will prevent you from screwing the frame to an oversized surface. I have a 59x32" surface, and with a 4inch gap between all edges it is extremely stable. Being over by a 2 more inches on each edge is probably not a problem. You should double check that the total weight of your surface and what you plan to use it for does not exceed the frame's weight limit. You're likely fine.

It's more of a weight restriction than one of size. When you start to have things going out past their recommendations, you might notice the motors in the legs bog down a bit when lifting. Shear weight (the combined weight of the object and gravity, past the point of attachment) is a thing.

Can I use a tempered glass desktop?
A shopper
on Nov 16, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Not directly as the screws for the table have to screw directly into something to hold the top in place. You could try gluing wood pieces to the glass and then screw the table into the wood however that glue has to be super strong and probably permanent. For safety just go with a wood top of some sort.

Can wheels be added to the legs?
A shopper
on May 23, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Hello and thank you for your desk. The desk wasn't really designed to use wheels/casters because stability could be affected especially at full height extension, but if you are looking to DIY modifications, it is possible to change the feet to casters with the same bolt size, just note that casters will add height and could introduce some instability.

would this work for an IDASEN 64x32 desktop? I have one with the stand that cam with it, but it is non-adjustable and also not tall enough. would this have the same mounting holes as it or would I need to drill new ones?
New User U
on Jul 11, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Although the stand is adjustable, I doubt the mounting holes will line up with an existing desktop. You will just need to drill new holes to mount the IDASEN top. The only other concern is weight. Make sure you don't exceed the max weight in the specs once you have desktop and everything else sitting on it.

Can I use a tempered glass top as desktop?
New User U
on Nov 16, 2023
BEST ANSWER: I would guess you could depending on how you planned to mount it. The unit has screw holes predrilled so that you can attach the desktop. You might also need some support spacers for the middle depending on how wide your desk is. Also, you would be seeing the motor controllers and wires that run down the center, so if you glass is clear that might look a bit unsightly.

Great desk base!
The desk was very easy to assemble with everything needed in the box. I built a 26"x 48" Walnut desktop that fits great on top. The controls are very quite and smooth. Super easy to program the settings. I would recommend.

Great Value!
I needed a motorized base to replace my manual crank standing desk. This was a great price. Arrived well packaged without any damage. Assembly was simple and straightforward.
After assembly I plugged it in and attempted to raise and lower. It kept reaching a point and would reverse. Occurred both lifting and lowering. I turned off the anti-collision feature and that resolved the problem. I found this odd since the base was not hitting anything and hadn't installed the desktop.
I easily moved my desktop to the new motorized base. The base worked flawlessly. The timer to remind you when to change positions is great! And the timer resets when you change the height.
I did not give it 5 stars because of the issue (that I resolved) with the anti-collision setting. That problem caused a delay in me being able to use it.
Great motorized base at a great price. I would definitely recommend this item.

Awesome build quality but wising it has a higher max load.
Overall great legs. Paired with a 51 inch table top. Lots os customization and a added timer was a nice touch. The motors are pretty quiet and goes up and down quickly. Nice and smooth incline and decline. Wobble doesn't start till you are at the 40 to 5(max height) range. But that could just be user error I did make sure to level the bottom with the included knob style leveler on the bottom of the feet. I do wish the max load would be more than 200lbs.
